Tom helped my husband and I protect guardianships that we have over two minors who for very valid reasons needed to remain in our care. Tom is an honest man. If he doesn’t have knowledge on a certain aspect of your case he will tell you and he will take the time to ensure he becomes educated on it. Tom is blunt and doesn’t sugarcoat things which is very much needed when dealing with delicate legal matters. Tom won’t make fake promises as some attorneys do. Tom is realistic, smart, cunning, and compassionate. Though Tom has many clients he does his absolute best to ensure that your questions are answered as quickly as possible and your needs are met. Even after our case is closed Tom is still available to us and willing to help guide us through. Tom was originally just our attorney, now I’d say that we consider him a friend. Thank you Tom.

Beware when an attorney is using an yahoo address. Thomas was completely lost in a divorce case, missed deadlines which cost me a lot of money. Did not advise me of a court date. Arrived late to the court date and didn't even know where the court room was. Refused to return my retainer with a smart comment "checks in the mail". I am filing malpractice, if you too have been negatively impacted by this firms negligence please have the bar look at my complaint too. Divorce is rough enough without having to be scammed by crooks with law degrees.

I would rate him zero (0) stars if I could. I previously wrote a review, but he obviously had it removed. He is a scammer who threatens to drop your case if you don't pay him more money. He is ill-prepared and acts as though he has ADHD. He also introduced me to a "CPA" who worked in his office who NEVER prepared my taxes, and was wanted by the GBI for fraud. Tom Tierney is nothing more than a snake oil salesman. DO NOT HIRE HIM!

Tom handled my original child custody case with my ex over 11 years ago and then again 4 years ago when my ex wanted to move out of state with our children. He cares about his clients and works hard to represent them in a professional manner. My 2 cases were stressful and he was with me every step of the way encouraging me and supporting me. Tom was late on everything. He would say he would do something next week and I would call two weeks later and it would never ever be done. This occurred at least 15 times over the 10 months it took him to do a simple child modification. When he finally got all the paperwork on February 2, I called him on February 4 and he said he had filled them with the court. On March 16 I called him and asked when will the papers come back from the court. He said he had not received the papers. I told him they were delivered February 2 and that I called him and he confirm that he had submitted them to the court. He said he just don’t did not remember the call nor receiving the paperwork. I had the UPS tracking number as proof of delivery date. There’s something very wrong here. He did not call me back so I then called him again and he said “oh I found them and I’ll submit them” but that’s six weeks late and cost me money. That’s just an example of how the whole 10 months went

Most of the time when he said he would do something I would ask him when will it be done and then a few weeks after it was due I’d call him back to follow up (because he never did do what he said he would do) and he had the same excuse —oh I just didn’t remember it.

I don’t know how someone like this can stay in business or how the Georgia Bar allows this kind of activities. I’m considering what I should do next so others don’t go through this because it’s wrong and legal issues like this can be so upsetting to our children and our extended families.
