Spaulding County Animal Control/Animal shelter does not even know their own codes beyond dog/cat. You report issues for them to start playing the “not my job” game. You call one agency to be directed to another, to another, to another, to back to where you started. You eventually (if lucky) will get someone who will give you plenty of excuses and try to placate/condescend. Yet will still cherry pick WHICH codes they WANT to enforce. What I am seeing is the “cherry picked” codes usually only require some “paperwork”. For example they will try to enforce number of cars (a citation) but refuse to enforce feral animal codes even when that feral animal charges and attacks someone trying to get in a morning walk on the road. As of right now the king of “not my job” and “unaccountable” is Spaulding County and who is over that? COUNTY COMMISSIONERS! Maybe it’s time for some new blood on that board who know how to say “your fired” if you cannot do the job you were hired to do.

For the residents why are you allowing your commissioners to waste your tax money. Point in question, is the Spalding County Animal Shelter. Have had on several occasion had to contact them in regards to stray animals, only to be told they are not accepting any strays and actually seem like they really don't care. Have contacted outside of Spalding County several rescue organizations, and they all say due to the problems with Spalding County Animal Control, they completely ignore and avoid Spalding County. Then Animal control trys to use the loophole in law " If you feed the Animal for three days then it's your problem" well it is not our problem if you continually call them and they refuse to do their job. Apparently they. Ultimately use yor tax dollars to build a new building so they can sit at desks and drink coffee and get paid. Irregardless a stray is a stray, are you just suppose to let animals die from starvation, or like so many are doing justing taking them and dumping them ? Aren't they suppose to be held accountable to see that employees do their job? Why are the commisioners not doing their duty and jobs, instead of allowing the resident to be taxed for a total waste, fix the problem or eliminate the tax. Why are we spending and voting for these splosh
payments if your money is just wasted. Spalding Animal
Control needs to be fixed and new personnel. We need Animal control to work with the community and rescue originations to get better cooperation and support instead of working as they are Not accountable to anyone !

The people of this county really need to reevaluate the people they have running it. They kept a small business out in limbo for over 6 months. On a property that didn't even need to be rezoned. There was absolutely no reason to stop us. We were going to do nothing but make the property look a million times better than it's current condition. However instead the people of this county and everyone coming into it on the north expressway will forever see a rundown piece of property right as they enter.

I feel very disappointed in this county. They lost a small business that would have benefitted the county in tremendous ways! But instead, they discriminated against us from the actions of others in the past. They left us in limbo for 6 months on a property that didn't even need to be rezoned. I hate that this happened because I had plans to beautify the north expressway that would have made a GRAND ENTRANCE for Spalding County
