Awful I've been trying to get legal advice from someone for the last 2 weeks and here they are they don't even clarify what they assist in. I finally spoke with two different people this week on the intake line first one,a man, who isn't even listening to what I'm saying is talking to other people while i am speaking to him, and just tells me to call back at 9:30am, after talking for 20 mins to speak with another intake specialist. The second person, a woman, who seems a little more focused on the call, yet kept interrupting me every 5 seconds asking the same question if I'm being evicted and i kept repeating that wasn't. Now at first i had asked what do they need to know because i didn't really know where to start as my situation is complex, after 25 mins of back and forth because she had a really bad attitude claiming that she is trying to help and by this point I'm very pissed off had the audacity to tell me to have a better attitude and finally said that they can't help me because my situation doesn't fit their criteria I.E. not being evicted, etc.. rudely tells me to call homeline which im already waiting on this place is a joke, dont expect anything from this organization. An absolute waste of time, incompassionate people.

My eleven year old daughter and I have been suffering from a number of issues with our property management and our neighbors. Our property manager pieced together a fraudulent paper trail, which she used to file a court ordered eviction. I was at a loss.

Then, I called MMLA.

The intake process is straightforward. It is not as *big and scary* as it may sound. Plus, the lady I spoke with was patient and understanding. She restored so much hope in our situation and I appreciate her for that.

Shortly after I spoke with her, I was connected to an amazing attorney, Max Tsai. Max is proactive in all areas. Especially, the way he communicates. Max assures his client(s) they are in good hands. Max is great at what he does. In my opinion, Max has a “no nonsense” type of demeanor, and that is exactly what makes him an amazing attorney!

Evan Gelles oversees Max. Evan calls the shots AND he makes SURE their client(s) get the justice they deserve. In addition, Evan ensures Max is supported while presenting their client(s) case to the courts. Evan, that is HUGE brownie points for you!

Max and Evan are by far the BEST! Max and Evan deserve the utmost respect AND recognition!

Max and Evan, thank you for defending my daughter and I this morning. I do not know how you guys do what you do, however, you both have a gift and deserve the credit!

To all who may be suffering through difficult housing circumstances, call MMLA! As tough as it may seem, do not hesitate to reach out and ask for support. Chances are, if you struggle with asking for support - you need it the most. Remember, you are worthy of support and you deserve it.

*If it is possible, request to work with Max and Evan. You will not be disappointed. *

Failing Minnesota's Most Vulnerable with Ableist Prioritization

I am deeply disappointed with the decline in service at DBLC. The screening attorneys' ableist prioritization, focuses on high-functioning participants, revealing a troubling conflict: DBLC stated they only accept cases with a high likelihood of success instead of acting as a P & A protecting disabled participants. This approach disregards the daily atrocities faced by medically complex individuals who struggle to access essential services they settle on.

As disabled Minnesotans continue to decline in crisis, it's disheartening to see DBLC highlight awards of cases like Murphy vs. Harpstead, to the detriment of those desperately in need of Olmstead compliance.

The disparity between the organization's accolades and the harsh reality for many Minnesotans is concerning. God help disabled Minnesotans as our organizations continue to fail us. The urgency for a new Protection and Advocacy organization is evident, one that truly prioritizes the well-being of all residents over superficial recognition.

This was the worst legan aid I have came across they don't answer the phone they keep the website shutdown so you can't even communicate and still don't answer the phone this place need to be shutdown

It's better to get a gun and fight for your rights cause not one of these legal teams members will fight with you when you are hurt over private renters that discriminate and violate constitutional rights and in other cases where there not able to assist like in federal court and you have a disability problem you mentally challenged and you have no money for a lawyer to take your case and you can't read and write and you try your best looking for help and all you get is a no and try this place and that place and you done all the calling you can do if u think like me time to fight back for the rights you deserve.
