I would not recommend Jason Smith as an attorney. From the start, he promised the world but failed to deliver. It took a year and a half just to get supervised visits, which should have been handled much faster. Throughout the process, he was unresponsive and difficult to reach, leaving me in the dark for weeks at a time.

To make matters worse, when I shared my honest experience in a review, he responded with threats of a lawsuit rather than addressing the concerns. That alone speaks volumes about his professionalism. If you’re looking for an attorney who follows through and keeps you informed, look elsewhere.

My sister hired him. He claims he did everything he said that him and my sister agreed upon. However that's not true. He took her money in March said the other party would be served by the end of the next week after receiving payment. Didn't do anything. My sister emailed him no response. Then in June of 2024 my sister called him and she's told that he can't find the other party. So your telling me for 3 months you didn't think to call email text her to let her no. Anyways she calls his office he tells her they can't find him in the state of Georgia. She gets off the phone with him and finds the other party in a minute. He then spoke with the other party which is against the law. And after he spoke with other party his whole demeanor changed and he tells my sister that she won't ever get her kids. She told this man or boy everything he acts like he doesn't have the whole situation it took almost 2 hrs to explain to him bc it's alot. She never lied to you Jason Smith! He thought he was smart by replying to her comment here after the Georgia bar said they closed her grievance she filed bc she didn't respond to his response when in fact she sent it twice once on Aug 20th 202r when she received your response and again on Oct 9th 2024 bc the lady at the GA Barr said to send it again in an email which she did. Then doesn't hear anything till Jan 2025 from GA Barr. You think it's over and it's not. You have caused my sister so much stress she had a miscarriage on Christmas eve 2024.

When seeing ratings of attorneys in a divorce, you can't easily tell whether the attorney is the problem, or maybe some reviewer just did not get the outcome they were hoping for. In the case of Jason Smith, and his Southern Piedmont Law, the problem you'll have IS THE ATTORNEY. We had a completely uncontested divorce, already crafted by a previous attorney, that he took six months to even file. Smith just sat on it trying to cause trouble between the parties. There were additional months more of waiting until we finally had to get another attorney. Of course he didn't refund anything. I never heard my attorney's actual voice on the phone once btw. It was 100% email communication only, letting weeks and months go by without a word. Aubrey is his partner there doing the up front sales. You won't even know that Aubrey is not an attorney when you first talk with them. He gives you that initial hug and cleverly dances around your questions about all those awful legal things you are on the hook for in their retainer document. Then, he tells you they can do everything you ask, quickly and with no problems. So with a leap of faith, you sign their Retainer Agreement... and then... they "disappear". And, when you do send them edits, what you get back seems almost purposely errant, so as to take more time and hope the party's may fuss over it more. SMITH falsly emailed us for months that "we are all waiting on the judge" as the delay. According to the court clerk's office though, he had not yet even filed our case for the judge to review. Smith doesn't live in Georgia and his answering service is not in Georgia. When we checked his website office address in Newnan (or Florida), we found it was fictitious. We really did use this attorney...and we "really" wish we hadn't. There are some good lawyers in Newnan, but Smith (who is known around town as kind of a bottom feeder) is just not a good choice.
