Mr. Hicks maybe a good lawyer for his military and criminal knowledge. However in terms of family matters I would not recommend this firm. The wording used in my settlement has cost me so much. I am someone who has 50/50 custody but now no visitation due to how it is worded. This in turn has cost me much more stress and legal fees trying to right the situation. Being my first time having to go thru something like this I was trying to be careful to not let this happen. He did not represent me as well as i feel could have been done. It was such a shame to find out my own lawyer gave my ex all the power to screw me over legally at every turn.

Mr. Hicks did an excellent job on my case. I recommend him to anyone who needs someone who specializes in Military Law or needs a divorce attorney. He is professional, knowledgeable and responsive and knows DFAS. I should have hired him the first time I needed an attorney, but I was very pleased that he was able to correct my financial circumstances I had years after my divorce was finalized. Mr. Hicks was an amazing attorney, he provided awesome council to me during my most difficult time. I don't honestly think that I could put into words how great Mr. Hicks and his entire staff truly are. I came to Mr. Hicks nervous, anxious, and lost - through the weeks leading up to my court date Mr. Hicks spent several hours with me - I made several appointments with him, called and emailed a lot, even communicated through texts to his personal cell phone- He always answered me, he always made time for me. When my court date finally came - I felt prepared, ready, confident. Mr. Hicks and his staff were a light in an otherwise dark place. The judge ended up granting me custody of my children ... When Mr. Hicks called to tell me the news, I cried. Tears of joy, relief, happiness... and he listened and shared in my joy.

Watching the passion and dedication Mr. Hicks showed while in the court room was amazing- Knowing he was there fighting for me and my children- was nothing short of an honor. He was quick to not let the other lawyer bully his way around - he was thorough in his questioning, he was respectful and yet held his ground when pushed back on.

There are several family Law lawyers in Valdosta -- But I can promise you - none of them will listen as compassionately as Mr. Hicks, None of them will devote the time Mr. Hicks will...
