I initially reached out to this firm and did an online inquiry. I received a phone call shortly after the inquiry was placed, from an older woman. I was very thankful she gathered some information first before charging me a consult fee. She advised that my case would need to be filed with the state of North Carolina, and that my children would not be able to be registered for school in the state of Georgia if I was not the primary custodial parent. I proceeded to secure a $100 appointment with an attorney in North Carolina, where I was told that the case in fact needed to be filed in the state of Georgia, after giving her the same exact information I gave to the woman on the phone. Feeling a little frustrated, I reached back out to this firm wondering if maybe my information was just miscommunicated. As you can see from the screenshots of the conversation, there was still uncertainty about where I needed to file and I was hesitant about placing another hundred dollar consult appointment fee if I was not going to be able to file in Georgia. Then, they quoted me a $10,000 retainer fee without a proper consult, which I obviously would have paid for if I knew for certain I was filing in the proper state. My gut feeling told me something wasn’t right here, so I reached out to DOZIER Law P.C to get a second opinion and I am so glad I did! DOZIER took the time to make sure that my case needed to be heard in Georgia before I paid my consult fee, then during my consult appointment, which was well over an hour, I found out that her information about primary custodial parent and registering kids in the state of Georgia was not true at all and the retainer that they requested was half the cost of what this place wanted. I’m not leaving a review as a paying customer, but through my brief interaction, I concluded that this firm was quick to give out misleading information and that quoting me $10,000 for a retainer fee was their way of saying we don’t feel like taking your case. In my opinion, I would not advise following through with this firm.
