Read the reviews, had to give five stars. What people expect from places like CLAS is absurd. They provide legal policy research support from my experience, are friendly, and do it well. They don't provide miracles, read minds, and solve all your lives problems.

Left 2 messages for someone last year. Never got back to me.

New situation now and I had to leave a message and they never got back.

I dunno, man. But this 1 star is quite beautiful, isn't it ?

Please guys. Understand that people looking for accessible help need it. You are NOT what you advertise yourselves as. It is not cool to do this.

In Canada there is many institutions for everone and everything and when u need it non are there, or everyone is just passing you from one place to the next untill you give up. Took Coast Mountain Bus Comoany to human rights, for violation of my rights, for violating collective agreement, putting condition as in order to get medical severance, and for Termination of employment while recovering from the injury. Before Human rights mediation I applied BC Human Rights Clinic organizations that provides assistance for Human Rights and they refused me.
At Human Rights mediation they said that I have case and that it is supported to go to next level, the CMBC ( company) puts in application for case dismissal, and they dismiss the case...so where is human right here...where is the legal assistance when u need it? They dont care about small guy (me and you)... No Human Rights, no explanations, whatsoever...Thanks for no help whatsoever.
I am still recovering from the injury, terminated, no medical severance and no help from Human Rights or Human Rights Clinic...

Help for issues between Landlord and tenant , seems better than tenancy branch i guess . Also had a lawyer from ClAS when I was in hospital but he said I'll be your lawyer if you are in hospital and since the moment you leave the hospital I'm no longer your lawyer .

Okay, I have had a few human rights legal related situations in my lifetime out of my control. I first reached out to CLAS, because I had no money to afford any realistic legal advice, aid and representation. I was in a situation at that time where none of my parents could afford to pay for any legal services regardless of my human rights legal issues or situation.

From my honest strong sincere opinion and personal experience as a CLAS past client to anyone about CLAS, is if you have reasonable money to realistically afford basic legal advice and representation, I would never, ever recommend CLAS for anything to do with human rights at all.

They do not have the legal resources to handle any serious human rights cases and will only offer persons mediation before a complaint without a fair trial with a complaint with very, again very limited legal resources in form of a signed retainer.

Sadly mediation with any complaint is not always fair to the victim of the discrimination and mediation settlement terms can be easily violated with the discrimination allowing to continue by the guilty parties with no justice for discrimination. In court you can reasonably prove discrimination at least and be awarded reasonable compensation including it gets legally documented in the courts as it should, where mediation it does not have to be proved and does not become court record outside of those mediation terms.

These CLAS lawyers from personal experience "appear to not have much court and law" experience again from a past CLAS client personal experience and recent situation.

I had a recent case with CLAS and I was pretty much left with nothing for the horrible pain and suffering I endured not including the discrimination that I honestly greatly suffered which is now long term in memory with many horrific nightmares of serious bullying.

I recently in a different legal situation reached out to a high paying attorney of law "high paying lawyer" that my parents later on were able to afford and the difference can not even be compared by a little to the legal circumstance that I have recently experienced which has been nothing but fair with reasonable accountability.

From dealing with that recent legal situation, I strongly know my legal basic rights honestly are reasonably protected from discrimination and a person who is quite knowledgeable in the law is taking care of me and my legal situation, with working with me towards a positive resolution through great law knowledgeable from a lawyer that has years and years experience in the human rights field.

As the old saying goes paying does come at a great price, again if you can afford to have your legal case properly investigated and resolved with a complete resolution to the problem. You may or may not find that fair resolution with CLAS, quite hard to tell. I will not speak on behalf of anyone but myself. I will not do business with CLAS ever again, because there was no realistic resolution and the guilty parties got away with serious discrimination with nothing more then a smack on their wrist which left me with even more horror and suffering. That was not Canadian Justice.

These high paying lawyers are very law knowledgeable, especially around human rights cases and have gone to trial and won many human rights cases and have experience defending human rights cases. They are the legal people you should reach out too, some of these expensive lawyers even can give free legal consolations that provide free legal advice.

Therefore, it is important and crucial for a lawyer to be able to know each side of the spectrum to know all the legal ins and outs to provide proper legal advice and provide proper legal representation including in a court like setting especially as important human rights court if required.

If I had to provide a personal honest strong opinion and professional advice to anyone, I would never deal with CLAS period to be fair. If you can not afford to pay for a reasonable lawyer, maybe your case is not worth fighting sadly... However, "CLAS may help".
