About the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center

\n

DCAC was established to streamline the process of investigating and prosecuting child abuse cases. Traditionally, children involved in these cases faced a fragmented and often retraumatizing experience, being interviewed repeatedly by various agencies. DCAC fundamentally changed this by creating a centralized approach. The organization’s mission is to improve the lives of child victims and their families by providing expert legal advocacy, forensic interviewing, and support services. They strive to ensure that children’s voices are heard, their rights are protected, and they receive the best possible outcome in their cases.

Key Features and Services

\n

  • Legal Advocacy: The Center’s legal team provides representation to children and families involved in child abuse cases, including criminal prosecution, civil litigation, and dependency proceedings.
  • \n

  • Multidisciplinary Team Meetings (MDTs): DCAC facilitates MDTs, bringing together all relevant professionals – law enforcement, CPS, medical personnel, and legal advocates – to discuss the case and develop a coordinated investigative and prosecution strategy.
  • \n

  • Support Services: Recognizing the emotional impact of abuse, DCAC offers access to a network of support services, including counseling and victim advocacy.

I’m now 19 years old and remember coming to the original place towards Dallas Centro, and they moved locations right after 1 yr when I finished my therapy. I can say this place helped a lot. Not only I am positively thinking about my traumatic experience. But I myself can say I had helped others get through the same thing. This place helped my parents to feel better and my brother to calm down. He doesn’t remember anything thank God, he was a baby. And my parents not only met peace in their hearts but met the true creator of the universe who helped them and me to move on from this experience. This place deserves good things, they will help your child move on from anything. And They will thank u later on.(if not, you will see it yourself the more they grow up if you do everything they ask, and seek what you truly need) I thank God for letting my parents open up and seek help here. I thank God for everything he did in the past and where I’m now. Praise God forever and always. I’m happily living my life, I was just 5-7 years old when I went here. (Picture on the left was me 6 years old, picture right is me present) And now I’m 19 encouraging you to come to this place if you’re seeking help. ❤️Jesus loves you and hope u find what u are looking for. 🙏🏼

This may not ever be a place that you would want to go but if you ever find yourself in a situation that you require their services, you couldn't be in better hands. The therapists, advocates and volunteers have been some of the most amazing and supportive people that we have ever met. They help you, they help your child (ren), they help the entire family piece the family back together.

Regret opening up to these people and breaking down in front of them, they said all the right things and told me theyd keep in contact, never heard from them again, i opend up to my family they laughed at me, i opend up to this center they abandoned me, they gave me hope just to leave me alone especially when i told them i was feeling suicidal, God got me, this center may help alot of people and im sure their intentions are good, but if anything they only added on to my pain and embarrassment, regret opening up and showing my weakness to them

Dallas advocacy center has been such a blessing to my family and I. The staff is so sweet and understanding with the children. They go above and beyond to help them as well as family members heal. Things will never be the same with this unfortunate common tragedy that we are all going through. But it will get better! Shout out to Ana G. and Lauren. Thank you so much guys! You guys are such a positive impact to many people. It’s very hard to go through all of this, but it will get better. As we completely heal let’s be there for others too who are going through similar situations.
