I tried to get a divorce 2 other times with other lawyers with no success. I went in to Utah Legal Clinic for a Consultation and brought all my info. They were able to get everything going that same day! Shanna was so professional, informative and speedy with the process. She kept me updated via email the whole time. My divorce was final within 2.5 weeks! They did all the paper work and communication with the other party as well as processed a waiver to waive the 90 day waiting period. The services were so affordable and I was amazed how fast everything went compared to when I had tried to file elsewhere in the past. I would have saved tons of money and stress if I'd gone here the first try. I'd highly recommend them to anyone needing a divorce. They know their stuff and get it handled fast! Loved my experience here.

I didn't have a choice of wanting to go through the divorce process, but I'm so glad I was referred to the Utah Legal Clinic. Angela is very knowledgeable and put my mind at ease during several sticking points of my divorce process. Angela, and her team, are very helpful and friendly. Don't let their friendly demeanor make you believe they are soft when it comes down to business during mediation or the courtroom. They are very respected by their peers. You won't regret this team on your side, if you need someone to represent you for your legal needs.

I have referred both of my two former wives and my current wife to use this place, and each time they have taken longer and longer to get the paperwork done. On this third time, my wife paid them the $525 on October 6, 2022, to get the paperwork done and she filled out the divorce worksheet and handed it in back on that same day, and it is now November 15, 2022, and they still haven’t gotten the paperwork done and back to her yet as of this morning. My wife has contacted them a few times between October 6, 2022, and today on November 15, 2022, and each time they have told her they’d get it done the following week or something to that affect, and then they never do and they don’t follow up with her either to communicate why they didn’t get it done when promised. They are terrible at communication and follow up. They also don’t keep promises to get the paperwork done when they say that they will. They also made tons of mistakes on the paperwork each time that I end up catching and then I have to have my wife have them fix it before we can sign documents without significant mistakes and misspelled names in it, etc. So quite frankly, this place has gotten much worse this year than in past years and I highly recommend you don’t consider them as an option, but instead find a different “Do-It-Yourself” Divorce attorney.

First off, I want to say that the paralegals with this firm are professional and helpful which is why I decided to hire this firm in the first place. However, you hire a law firm for the licensed lawyer and Angela was not anything that could be described as helpful or professional.

I retained and paid Angela on September 23rd with instructions to start on my divorce filing immediately. Over 2 weeks later, she still had not even started on the filing nor made any movement on my case at all. I called to ask why and never received anything back. A 3rd week went by and I was blindsided with service that my wife had beat me to filing a divorce using a free legal service. When I called the law firm, I was told that they knew my ex had filed the week before but had neglected to tell me.

When I asked to speak with Angela, she said it was a good thing that my ex filed first because it saved me money. She then neglected to tell me that their was a divorce injunction that could have saved me a lot of problems. Additionally, she waited until the last hour of the 30 day deadline to file a response to my wifes divorce petition placing me at great risk of a potential default judgement.

When I called again at the end of November to find out what was going on, it took her over a week to get back to me. When we did connect, I raised my concern that A) she was difficult to reach and B) that she was not prompt at doing what I hired and paid her to do. Her response was " I don't give a F**K about your money". I was extremely put off by this response and asked why she was so aggressive to a client to which she gave a long list of her personal problems and complaints of having to heavy a case load. Angela even tried blaming one of her paralegals for the delay in response claiming she had "Covid brain".

Angela convinced me that although they made mistakes, she would be personally working to fix the issue. This never happened. In fact, I attempted to reach her all through December and was told she was on vacation or out for the holiday's. I asked repeatedly for invoices and nothing was ever sent. Messages were left with her staff and emails sent to Angela directly and nothing returned for over a month.

When Mid January came, I finally sent Angela a professional but direct email informing her that I was dismissing her and wanted an invoice and refund immediately. Angela responded that she had already decided to quit on my case anyway (Without telling me of course!) She then emailed and got personal blaming me for the issues.

My experience with this firm was horrible. I wish I had fired Angela sooner or never hired her in the first place. Lots of good attorneys around so save yourself the trouble and find someone else!

Updated - I was contacted by the clinic, asking me to remove my review and suggesting that I did not experience these issues. First, I will add my call records, which indicate the many times we spoke, including the fact that this was a month ago, not less. You're correct, I did send a divorce information sheet. This was sent in a blank email with an attachment. No legal questions were asked. No reply email was received. When I did call your office, I was informed that the fee was not paid until I had a consultation with an attorney. They stated I would receive a call back from an attorney "today or tomorrow". I understand you are a small business, and for that, I have to say that most successful businesses don't try to skew the information provided by their clients or potential clients. I am not saying you're a bad business. However, my experience was negative. I ask that I not receive more emails asking me to remove my experience.

I filled out all the paperwork to do a DIY divorce. I called the office to ensure it was received. I was informed that I would be contacted regarding my case, once my paperwork was processed. I called more than twice within the following 2 weeks, as I had not heard anything. I was told that the work load is high right now. It's been more than a month, and I'm still waiting to receive this call. I'm very disappointed, as your services are rated highly. I went with a competitor instead...they got me taken care of right away. Not really sure why you have an active website and advertising if you can't handle more clients.

UPDATE:
The day I posted this review, Angela reached out to me via email to sincerely apologize and to offer amends by upgrading my DIY divorce to DWA (worth $300) for free. After this, I rarely had to worry about my case any longer because they stepped up and took charge, and two weeks later, I am officially divorced! I am so grateful that they saw what needed to be fixed and they fixed it. Thank you so so much.

Older Review:
I started my divorce process three months ago, and it has been a battle ever since. I'm still waiting for my complete divorce package. I'm working with Jacqueline, and at the beginning, I was told it would take a few weeks. A few weeks comes and goes, and I hear nothing. I email her, and she replies that it will take another week. Of course, it comes and goes and still, I hear nothing. This pattern has been repeating for the past three months!

I understand things are difficult with the pandemic and staffing, but please please PLEASE keep me informed and give me accurate time lines! It's okay if something might take a month, just let me know! I've asked multiple times to be informed, and of course, nothing. It's worse to promise something and not deliver, especially when I've had to reach out 99% of the time in order to hear anything.

I'm very disappointed with this treatment as it has been very unprofessional and frustrating. Divorces are already a stressful thing, and it makes it worse when I'm being misinformed and ignored.
