I hired Allen Young to help me retain my lost wages and get the workers comp company to continue to approve my medical treatment. He did neither. What he did do, was negotiate authorizing 6 physical therapy visits after a second elbow surgery that should have been at least 6 months and to include my lost wages as part of the settlement so he could take 1/3 of my lost wages and increase his 33%. He also tried to get the insurance company to pay me for the second surgery (again so it would increase his 33%) and make me wait for 6 months to a year to have the hardware removed that they put in the first surgery and have my regular health insurance pay for it. He knew that I was sick from an allergic reaction to the metal but wanted to make more money regardless of my health. With his negotiating the lost wages to wait until the settlement, it made me lose my house and become homeless. Then when I fired him he put a $5000. lien against the settlement, screwing me over even more.

Ben and the team were amazing to work with. Not only did they take the time to understand my injury, but also explained how Utah state laws are designed to protect the companies. In Utah, if a company decides it doesn’t want to do the right thing and take care of an employee injured on the job by denying the worker’s comp claim, it becomes the injured employee’s legal burden to prove they were injured on the job. I hope I’m never in that situation again, but if I am, I will be calling Utah Injury Law Center.
