this is one of those orgs that values disabled peoples' agency so long as the disabled people are making the decisions that are easiest for the org; try to express any actual agency in your care and the facade of them respecting disabled people disappears and they turn immediately to carceral medicalization.

I'm so grateful for my attorney Michele Yankson. She helped my court case be dismissed. Very pleasant. I felt very confident, comfortable and at peace when she spoke to me. I really send many Blessings to Michele and UJC staff. Best of Luck all.

I don't post reviews often but I can literally say this is by far the most legitimate agency I've ever come across, urban justice center stood up for me in such a way that I would literally not even be alive today if it wasn't for them. When I was going through the roughest time in my life with ableism and extreme circumstances and I had nobody around in this world to help me this agency stood up for me and gave me the strenght , assistance and dignity to get on my feet again .I thank God literally every single morning for all the people who work at this place because they made my life worth living again

I have been affiliated this organization for over 4 years. The staff is courteous and professional and handle their business well. They have assisted me with a multiplicity of issues..DRIE, Social security, housing and SNAP and more. They have worked harder for me than any other legal outfit I have used in the past for these matters. I am forever GRATEFUL and Sing their Praises! Check them out! You will be satisfied!!

Today my mom and I called and was rudely talked to by whoever when trying to get information for my brother who suffers from mental health and was a victim of a slashing on the NYC train. We wanted to get information on how to get him the best services and were treated poorly and told go to the site when asked about resources. Some people shouldn’t work with the public. They don’t know how to talk to people, especially those in need.
