Unfortunately, after a long relationship with this little shop, I rent a lot of U-Haul trailers and they always have a great selection. I rented a PO Box for my business only to find out that I couldn’t use it. I paid for six months upfront. The charge was $152 and some change. There was a $15 Set up fee, and I also purchased about $40 worth of used U-Haul moving blankets.

I called back the following Monday, three business days later, and politely let the lady know that I had found out, unfortunately, I was going to be able to use the PO Box/mailbox at The Ship Station and I asked if could I get a refund. I didn’t expect to get the set up fee of $15 back, but because I had not used the box, I just assumed that it would be a pretty easy thing for her to just reverse the charge and cut me some slack since I was a regular customer. I simply wanted back $152 for the six months and she wanted to charge me the set up fee of $15 and a little over $20 for one month rent. I’ve only had the box for one week, and four days of that one week was her arguing with me about any refund at all.

Unfortunately, The first phone call I made to her on the third business day, her first response was that she would have to contact the post office. I said “ma’am, that doesn’t make sense because we haven’t sent any information to the post office for a change of address. This PO Box was going to represent a physical mailing address for my business and only my business. Then she said she would have to talk to the previous owner because she didn’t know how to do a refund on the mailboxes. I thought to myself that it sounded strange, but I said OK.

I called her back two days later, and she said that she could do a refund, but it would only be partial and that she would have to charge me a month’s rent. I knew that wasn’t true because she’s an independent business owner. I have a merchant account for my company. I can refund whatever amount I want to to a customer. So rather than arguing with her over the phone, I drove up there today and when I walked in, we greeted each other good morning and I said “ma’am, (and I did this very politely), ma’am, I have a discrepancy with you about the mailbox and she immediately showed Anger and frustration with me and said I’m not gonna argue with you. I’ll just give you the money back.

I said OK thanks. I then told her that I would not be bothering her anymore. And she did not respond. So, basically she chose getting angry over $25 rather than having an ongoing customer that has been renting Uhaul‘s from her regularly for almost 2 years. All her other services are great, I would not recommend renting a PO Box from this place.

Great People. All I have to do is walk in and say, "I'm just dropping off" and lay it on the counter. Very helpful if I need anything else. Great gift shop too. Smells so good in there as well. Highly recommend if you want friendly service.

I needed to ship a defective graphics card to a company in California. I was quoted just over Thirty two dollars as the most inexpensive route between all the carriers. This quote was with three hundred dollars of insurance as well. I told the guy that his price was way to high and he told me that it was because it was all the way to California AND they had to make money somehow. Now I understand those reasons and to be fair they are accurate, but why tell me that? I left and headed down the road to the USPS and got a flat rate box shipped all the way to California in three days for..... eighteen dollars. Proof is in the photo!
