I do not recommend Patrick for serious cases. I hired him for an immigration case and a year later I hired him for a civil case which was a big mistake. I got a restraining order and lost my gun rights for a year. We still have hostile husband-wife neighbors who use cops to harass my family.

In my immigration case, my first attempt without a lawyer I was denied because I did not submit certified court documents. Patrick also did not submit all the right documentation. Immigration requested he submit certified court documents. This is after I had already shown him why I was denied. It was the same document request.

The civil case he never should have accepted because he is not a civil litigation lawyer. I trusted him to take on the case after having a consultation with him. He said "I know Judge John Mayne in civil court, we go out to eat." "He's fair and looks at all sides" which was not the case. Judge Mayne is prejudiced and does not hide it. Patrick did nothing about it.

We have a hostile neighbor couple who calls the cops on us whenever we play Mexican music. In the last 2 years they have filed multiple restraining orders on me. That's why I decided to hire a lawyer to help. After accepting payment he didn't even bother to read the statements he requested from me and wife. He said "I only skimmed through them" when I asked him if he read them. That's a bold and unprofessional remark.

After he took on the case, the neighbor still called the cops once a week for playing Mexican music while we remodel our home. She filed multiple police reports. Each one of these times we called Patrick and told him that the cops showed up at our house. He requested we give him dates and times, we did.

We ended up in court where he showed up late and unprepared. The hostile neighbor brought all the police reports to court and Patrick told the judge he was ambushed with those documents. Even though he had weeks to request them from the Modesto Police Department. It was his idea to "push" the case back so he could have more time to prepare. It was very obvious he was unprepared. He requested that we ask other neighbors for statement letters that support me, which I did, and he did not even mention them in court.

One of the hostile neighbors is a retired sheriff, who I witnessed choke someone out in the alley. I gave Patrick the police report number and he never submitted a request. This same person was arrested for assaulting another neighbor, which is why my family has been concerned by his behavior. I don't know why he didn't request police reports, it does not make sense.

Moving forward, I would not trust Patrick on a serious case where you could possibly get deported or a case that involves losing your rights or freedom. Initially I was grateful to have become a US Citizen but now I see his pattern of error. I would have never hired him for my immigration case because if it would have gone to trial there was no way he was going to win with the way he handled my case.
