This one star review is for PGAL, Sam Sorensen. Overcharged for rediculous items, and added no value. Minimal effort to collect a check, and poor judgement. In the end, God knows. Thank heavens for Anna Trupp, our custody evaluator. She came through for us in the end. Think about a custody evaluator over a PGAL, is my recommendation. Especially if you have parents on the other side involved in various versions of substance abuse. It’s not just clients that feel this way, it’s attorneys in the industry that see his lack of effort, as well.

I could not be happier with my decision to hire Sam. He was recommended to me by a friend who had a similar experience.
My divorce was initially going to be amicable, after I received paperwork from my now ex-wife’s lawyers, I was highly concerned (to say the least). I had never hired a lawyer before and had only heard horror stories from others. Needless to say I was nervous at our first meeting. That lasted about five minutes.
Sam is a personable individual, he talked to me and not at me. He never talked above my head and everything was explained in detail in a language I could understand. He was upfront about potential costs depending on which route the divorce went, but in the entire dealings with Sam (over six months) I never felt it was about the money. I’m not kidding, I always felt like it was about me and the best outcome.
He was calming and understanding when I got upset, and guided me when I was being unreasonable…or on occasion too reasonable (in an attempt to just get it over with). He never had me do anything that went against what I felt was right and never took the case in a direction I did not agree with.
I cannot say enough about Sam, at our last face-to-face meeting, after everything was done, I thanked him for not being the stereotypical lawyer you hear about or see on TV.
If I ever have another legal issue, I will go back to Sam. If anyone I know is in need of a lawyer, I will recommend him with confidence.

Going through a divorce, especially with children, is difficult and overwhelming. Sam and his team were professional, knowledgeable, reasonable, and always kept my daughter at the forefront of all conversations. His paralegal, Amanda, is incredible. I would email or call obsessively with random (and sometimes crazy) questions. She was always so soothing and helpful. I really cannot say enough great things about this firm. If you are thinking about or going through a divorce, contact Sam. He will give you the truth about "what happens next".

Another noteworthy item is the response from Sam and his team. All emails were responded to promptly and with questions answered. This is paramount especially during a custody dispute.

PS-He is absolutely incredible during mediation...even the mediator was surprised at the effectiveness and promptness of Sam and his filings. Take the first real step in Divorce and hire Sorensen Law Group. You will be thankful you did.

I highly recommend Sam. I was given his name by a family member that had used his services. This family member spoke highly of Sam, so I decided I should see if Sam were right for me. I was also looking at a few other law firms, that also seemed good.

After meeting with Sam, I knew I wanted him to be my lawyer. I came away from our initial consultation confident that he would he was on top of things, that he would give my case all the attention that it needed, and that he would help me undstand the process. Throughout everything, he proved to be all of those things.

He is quick to respond to questions and concerns. I lived out of state, so it was comforting to know that someone was taking care of everything. He was always well prepared, and his insights showed that he is very smart and thoughtful.

I also appreciated his experience. He was able to guide me to make the right decisions for the short term and the long term. Some long term issues were not apparent to me, but he guided me correctly.

Lastly, I knew he would fight as hard as needed to get the best outcome for me. He's mild-mannered and patient, but if things had gone bad or gotten difficult, I have know doubt that he would be the very lawyer you'd want on your side.
