I mediate in Putnam County, and have found Legal Aid to be responsive, understanding, and competent. It is an important distinction to draw between not getting the result you want and the incompetence of counsel. Theirs is a very, very difficult job, they are always up against opposing counsel with more resources, more time, and most often a more cooperative client. There is a responsibility that you have as a client, and I have seen it more often than not whereby the outcome of any litigation is as effected by client performance as anything else.

The case started on March 6, 14. To this day May 13, with a court date on June 6 I have yet to really speak in depth to my lawyer. For two weeks I have been trying to reach him and NO response. I'd like to know how in the heck I won't lose my case. It seems the decision will be based solely on a forensic evaluation. At no point have I have the chance to show who I am and what I'm doing now. Legal Aid is a let down and so is the system!!!

The one lawyer I had acted like a child. He never looked at my case and asked me questions but would not let me speak. Then he wanted to know why I had nothing to say! The women in the office talk behind (in front) of the clients backs like they are not even people. They should not be in business!!

Excactly the same thing I had with those misfit clowns. They are the WORST, UNCOMPASSIONATE, UNPROFESSIONAL, wanna be layers I have ever seen. If its a very important case thats needs expertise, and a reputable lawyer then I would suggest taking out a loan, borrowing money, or representing yourself. They are NOT on your side.They actually identify MORE with the one your up against then with you. Hmmm...sounds like you either had the clown with the cowboy boots, or the other clown with he Monopoly man mustache. They never return your phone calls, can never speak to them when you call, no voice mail to leave, no cell phone number to call, no buisness card with their contact info to give you, etc, etc, etc. Dont even waste your time. UNLESS its for a joke of a matter you have to get out of.

took about half an hour for someone to answer the phone, then when i went into the office i was never greeted and could hear other clients talking about their case. extremely unprofessional.

Wow my lawyerr acted the same way belittled me the whole time and also treated me like a child I felt like I was alone and everything was my fault .

legal aid may be a let down in other counties, but Putnam County Legal Aid is the best!!!!!
