It's Alabama, it's a state job, it's the DMV, it's unsurprising. If you want to know where the stereotypes come from, visit this office. One surly woman has a document posted at her work station, facing the public, that says "reasons why I hate Tennessee", and it lists her many reasons. Obviously people with DLs from other states are going to get very "special" treatment. Rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional behavior is tolerated, and apparently encouraged by the supervisor of this facility south of Florence. Employees at places like this never lose their jobs, as it is a state job and/or they know or are related to someone.

My son and I went to get a ID and update my drivers license address and we had the pleasure of being served by Michelle Ray ! she went above and beyond her job and I really appreciate her. On my son‘s birthday.if everyone was so nice as her the world would be a better place

I usually hate going to the DMV but Mrs Correa really changed my perspective on it. She was so kind and helpful and definitely an upbeat attitude. Will never go to the court house again, I will come here from now on!

Employees here have super bad attitudes, are unprofessional, and suck at their jobs.

Their whole setup is stupid. You have to call a number to get them to open the door (only dmv I’ve ever seen like this) then when the lazy employee ladies inside don’t answer the phone the only option is to knock or beat on the door. Then they verbally attack you for using common sense.

The lady who does the reinstatement has the worst attitude I have ever dealt with in my life. She will not listen to anything you try to say and constantly talks over you. Worst experience I have ever had in a drivers license office.

After a terrible few years I moved from Chicago to alabama. Since my license was expired for some time I needed to re take the test. The lady was extremely strange. Didn’t like that I was turning right on red. There was plenty of space and the lane was clear. She said I was pulling into on coming traffic which was false. She also said I almost ran into someone which was also false. She also said that I stopped too far past at every stop sign. They want you to stop way back from the stop sign so if you can’t see you need to say I’m moving up more I can’t see. I think the tone was set when I called her out at the beginning for turning right on red when she knew I had plenty of space. Seemed like an over dramatic woman if you ask me. Next time I’m filming because I didn’t almost hit someone nor did I turn into traffic. She lied
