There is a two week wait process to start with first. I've called and spoken to a gentlemen a couple times just for him to inform me of the wait time. I have a civil matter and is affected by my past. I need help but no many places to go if your on SSI.

Valerie is an exceptional immigration lawyer who I can't recommend highly enough. Her efficiency and timeliness are truly impressive, making the entire process smooth and stress-free.

I had a particularly challenging citizenship case, but Valerie's dedication and hard work made all the difference. Thanks to her expertise and perseverance, I finally achieved success in obtaining my citizenship. I'm immensely grateful for her tireless efforts and unwavering support throughout the journey.

If you're in need of an immigration lawyer who goes above and beyond, look no further than Valerie. She's truly a gem in her field.

My disabled parent is currently working with this agency on my stepfather’s disability appeal. The senior paralegal B. Lopez has not returned any of our calls. My stepfather’s claim is about to be denied again since SSA has reached out requesting additional information that has not been provided. I’m sure the attorneys and paralegals are super swamped with work as this is an non for profit agency. I’ve worked in agencies like this before and have noticed the challenged workers have there. My frustration lies with the fact that this issue has a huge impact on the families they service, including the disabled who have little to no resources.

NYLAG helped me through my asylum process. Amanda Bernardo who has left NYLAG if i could give her a 10 star I should give her that. She was attentive to questions and replied so fast, she was there 24/7. Very professional and had so much empathy and understood well my case. I have dealt with Deborah Chen and f possible i could give her a 10 star as Amanda. Thanks to the Staff and this organization for helping us. Special thanks again and again to Amanda And Deborah.

I called because I needed a lawyer/attorney but the truth of the matter is that if you are broke and poor no one really cares about you. I learned that the hard way when calling legal aid services and speaking to different people. there's two justice systems, one for the poor and one for the ultra rich. money makes the world go round and when you have no money for any lawyers and attorneys then you are screwed. The reason why I rated it 5 stars it's because even though what I said was correct and I wasn't helped, I'm happy to see that other people were helped. it must be stressful and exhausting working for free and not getting paid enough so I understand.

Unfortunately, NYLAG has taken the case of a frightened 6-year-old girl who was discovered alone after an evacuation in Afghanistan in August 2021 without following up or taking it seriously. NYLAG has changed attorneys every few months and hired new grads to practice on her case. The new lawyer calls and inquires about the entire process from the beginning. The failure or delay in responding to an email after several weeks. I will shortly mention the names and emails of all lawyers, as well as her supervisor, here and in the media. It is completely unacceptable for a state or federally financed agency to waste people's time. They have not submitted an asylum application for this traumatized child since 2021, and their excuse is that they are working on the form.

If you want continuity in your legal experience you certainly won't get it here! Deborah Berkman and company duck and weave - leaving clients behind and the lurch. I should know I told them I was going in for a small cancerous hospitalization and thank them for the work. Their social worker syncophant inform me in 1 minute phone call whilst I was in the doctor's waiting room "We've done all we can, have a nice day" 🤮

This organization is dangerous. An absolute sham of performative “liberal” saviordom devoid of the humanity, compassion, audacity, introspection, or innovation required to provide real justice. To pursue justice, you have to first acknowledge humanity, which a group of narcissists and psychopaths literally cannot do.

Justice seekers, understand you have all the power that you need. You don’t need people who gaslight you, leave your calls unanswered and generally make you feel hopeless on top of the trauma you’ve already faced.

The US will NEVER change (because it was never supposed to). The only real change that’s ever occurred does so through blood, sweat, tears, financial loss and death. And it’s through the efforts of desperate people who are fed-up and fight because there is no other option. Because we have one life and deserve to be treated as human beings.

Working with this organization was one of the catalysts to leaving my hometown of NYC and then the US permanently. The spineless, hollow, elitist, greedy (yet broke) LiBeRaL transplants who have ruined my city and made it a hellscape for native New Yorkers are the majority of the staff here. My reaching out for the help they don’t provide helped affirm what a cesspool of darkness, apathy and chaos this country is and always has been. Elizabeth Morris is an awful lawyer and an even worse human being. NYLAG has done so much harm and will be exposed.
