We needed an estate plan so we looked for an attorney specializing in that area.

First we looked on the State Bar of California website to get a list of attorneys in our area that specialized in estate planning. We narrowed that list down quite a bit by choosing attorneys with ~10 years of experience; the idea was to pick an attorney with enough experience to be proficient in preparing estate plans but also young enough so that they would be able to support possible revisions over the next 20 years.

Shannon has a structured yet stress-free process to developing an estate plan.
