Having worked with a few different title companies in the past few years I will say the team at lighthouse title is second to none. They are professional, pleasant, and efficient. Everything seemed good, except when we ran into some issues with delinquent taxes from the previous owner. Lighthouse said they'd make sure the previous owner would pay everything up, but of course things got muddy when we closed and the winter taxes came to us and still had the delinquent amount on it. It was actually the seller and their title company who brought it up and tried to make it right. After days arguing on the phone and through email with Lighthouse trying to figure it out because they clearly didn't understand, we actually met with the seller's title company and the lady sat down and helped us understand the breakdown of the taxes at closing and the winter taxes we had recently received and paid. We actually got some money back because the proration was wrong.

To top it off, we were told from Lighthouse we had to pay a few hundred dollars more for our taxes... which was fine so we sent them a check. Only to find out they had already paid our taxes and send us a refund for paying twice essentially. We received a check in the mail for the return but seriously though... makes me worried having them handle our money with all mistakes like that being made.
