I went in and out of the courts all by myself with no luck for 2 years. Served her several times and even though the mother never showed up, things didn’t change. They FINALLY helped me get custody but by the time I got it, it was too late. Mother took my daughter who knows where. Detectives are still looking for them. It’s been over 14 years since I have seen her. The family court system is broken, you really DO need someone by your side with experience navigating it. I only wish I knew about them and called earlier. Maybe I could have gotten custody before she disappeared. And they did it all for free.

As if it wasn't hard already being a victim of domestic violence, there Levitt & Quinn is to make it an even more grueling process. I applied for help over a month prior to my final court hearing. After jumping through many hoops: 1) traveling to and applying directly at the office 2) submitting additional paperwork that took much effort to collect detail behind 3) several delays in correspondence from L&Q and 4) needing to spend money on requested documentation, I wasn't able to even land a consultation. They were misleading with hope throughout the process. They could've told me "we are unable to help at this time," which would've sufficed instead of wasting the time and energy of someone who is already suffering.

This is a warning for your time being wasted.

They charge a $45 intake and then waste your time. ( especially if you have a upcoming court hearing. )

(thats the catch) They bait you in to make it seem like its hard to get in, but once they pull the line in your in for the long stretched roller coaster ride. Im already in a tight situation by being in the low income, no job, single parent, and now have to deal with more games and more headaches than I can even bare. It seems unreasonable for them to give you an answer from the first month.

Feels like I have been through hell and back. They make it seem like the help is coming your way. The reason we called you was to get help, not to seek elsewhere.

Staff needs a replacement and the entire idea of this organization either MUST go or choose certain people to help.

Let this be a warning. Dont count on me, check other negative reviews that others posted.

This is by far the worst service I have ever acquired. These people claim to be pro bono but they pick and choose their cases. They will charge you for talking on the phone and give you useless advise. They NEVER have time for court appearances or anything to be completely honest. Do not bother wasting your time with these people, they’re useless.
On the other hand, Shrivers and Legal Aid were 1,000% way more helpful and are actually free of charge. You will not feel scammed or disappointed like you will with Levitt and Quinn.

Don't waste time on this. Karen the receptionist will have you go back to court to get docs that aren't even important. She's the gatekeeper. They don't want to help. The disappointing part is that I would refer my clients to them. After my own experience with this organization, I will never again refer anyone here.

They use the term "dedicated lawyers" with Christ-like generosity. If you pay for your consultation Samuel Martinez will answer one question. Then tell you to pay another consultation fee to answer another and he will be able to get to it in a month because he has "so many" clients. This guy is rubbish! He gave me different oral advice than the written advice. I followed it what this wunderkind told me to do. Still haven't seen my kids...

Maybe another one of their attorneys has some integrity and is there to help but Samuel Martinez is not. His demeanor is set for people that aren't willing or capable to question his counsel, the poor. He can't be incompetent, he graduated from the prestigious Southwestern Law School (Top 147-195 law schools in the nation according to US News and World Report) for the love of God! He seems like a real 147-195 ranked legal representative.

I trusted Anna Lucas with my domestic violence case and the decisions SHE made by stipulating with an abuser, instead of going to trial like I wanted, has now put my child at risk of being in the hands of an abuser full-time. She ran me around endlessly to obtain paperwork, even on a holiday knowing the courts were closed and traveling was extensive for me. She also told me that Levitt and Quinn do not deal with property issues in which I needed help with. The abuser never allowed me my property and I lost everything. Now, my child Is next. She gave bad advice by telling me NOT to respond to petitioner papers "since we were going to trial anyway" and on the day of trial she immediately had me sign the attorney substitution form. Against my wishes, we didn't go to trial. I also had to talk her into the custody share I ended up with as she didn't have this in our child's best interest either. The way she treated me throughout our time was also disgraceful. Her decisions and the way she handled my case has made me regret leaving my abusiveex in the first place. I'm homeless and about to loose my child for no just reason other than he has an attorney who uses judicial procedure to obtain orders and counts on me not knowing any better.

Excellent resource. Wealth of information provided is priceless. Very detailed, patient and customer oriented. First come first serve basis. Fills up fast. Arrive early and have ALL of your court files with you when you go.Best time and financial investment one can make. I suggest going to them prior to trying to hire an attorney.
