This is a great place to go and find out the various legal routes you have or may encounter when dealing with legal matters. Things such as landlord/tenants; accidents/injuries; child custody/support; civil lawsuits; civil rights; divorce/separation; employment/workplace; and wills/trusts. At this moment, they have a program called a community ID - which was created by the Broward County Commission per resolution 2021-144. It is for any resident of (can apply) Broward County. This ID is especially useful to formerly incarcerated persons, foster youth, transgender persons, the homeless, new immit, refugees, or anyone who might face difficulties obtaining a state-issued ID. Immigration status will not be asked. Take full advantage of this program, especially those that are economically disadvantaged. J.E.

U have to go in person in order for them to help effectively forget about that phone call. They help me with my unemployment which employer didn't want to pay.

Reached out for help with a divorce in January, was told if my spouse was in agreement things could be done and processed within a month. It is now September and I still don't know what's going on with my case. Whenever I can get in touch with someone (very rare, no answer, no responses to voice-mail, I literally email the supervisor & Paralegal everyday) it's the same conversation as if it's my 1st time calling. Lawyer set an appointment to speak on the phone and he never called.i called to try and speak to the attorney and was told they don't have a direct number to him that they can only email him and bc they are working from home no one knows when he's in office to check his messages. VERY LONG PROCESS AND I STILL FEEL LIKE THINGS ARE STILL IN THE BEING STAGES.

3.8 stars?! Are you kidding me! At least most people agree with me that the front desk staff is rude. You know when I rate someone poor, it was after a few attempts to resolve things. I called and they do not pick up. I am having a hard time with that when the front desk person hardly has any walk-ins. I couldn't leave them a voicemail so, I had to leave it in some other random department. They take a few days to call you back. When they do, they give you misinformation and tell you to come in. Their #1 line. "Just come in." What a waste of time. Let people know if they qualify first! When I arrived, the front desk person and other employees are encouraging me to come back after filling out about 8 pieces of paper. I'm confused. Do you want me to come in or not? It's like they don't want you in their lobby because its extra work. Then, when they review your paperwork, they only serve a very small segment of the population. It's time that another agency handles legal aid in Broward County. With all the funding they get, combined with their attitude, they should be doing more. Please yank their funding. They don't deserve it!

Dont even waste your time calling this office. THEY DO NOT ANSWER THE PHONE! (they checkin' them cellphones on the clock tho -_-). This place needs to be closed at this point becuase, they are NOT PROVIDING LEGAL AID!!!
