AS OF 6/6/22, STILL NO RESPONSE. LYING LAWYERS AND STAFF. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!
I reached out to this agency years ago when I had a CKHA certificate. Moved 6 times in 6 years thru no fault of my own. They couldn't help me with this obvious problem. I received a letter stating this now have a pending case against CKHA with help from the ACLU in getting my accordion file regarding their deceptive practice and pattern behavior.
I purchased a home in May thru the Home Blend. Inspectors, appraiser and a structural engineer from Lesage, WV ($250 report) all missed safety issues or morally didn't note it in the home. Because it was vacant, everyone stated the antiquated 100 amps would support a newly installed HVAC unit?
I completed an intake indicating that I now have a mortgage. Assigned an attorney. Submitted my information. It's reviewed and discussed. I'm told that it's breach of contract & fraud and I'll get a pro Bono referral for an attorney but they can't help me because it's NOT a landlord tenant situation.
I follow up after no response and I'm told the notes in my file are the opposite of what I was told and now I can't get a respone?
Appears to be common practice with these agencies designed to help the less fortunate...

No one ever got back to me to follow up on my situation. Then months later I receive a letter saying they tried to reach out to me but there was no answer. My call log from my cell phone provider showed no calls from Legal Aid nor any other possible #. And if i needed to proceed with my issue or needed other help to call within so many days of receiving the letter. I immediately called and it was 16 til quitting time, and to no surprise, no answer. Yes, i left a voicemail LAST WEEK and here it is tuesday and no calls no emails...nothing!

If I could give zero starts I would. I am to respond to what I believe (and having read laws)- is an illegal practice-(complicated case) and my "appointed attorney," using the term loosely, Andrew Earley has not followed up. (1.5 weeks). When he spoke to me, it felt as if I was being interrogated or cross examined. I sent everything he requested, (after he was 45 minutes late in calling), and was told they could not give extensions to the attorneys or provide legal advice over the phone. (No extension provided during the only call). Exactly what are the tax payer dollars, myself included, paying for? To those of you who donate to the "Galas" or donate period- remember this- those of us who are stuck in the middle, or low-income- do NOT receive what Legal Aid of WV claims. Zero advice (I can handle going to court alone, which was the first thing he mentioned), I simply need answers- not from YouTube videos, but a real attorney, who will answer questions without interrupting. Congratulations to the rich who donate for tax write-offs. Your money isn't helping, it's paying for attorneys who sit at their desks and rake in your money and do nothing for those you claim you want to help. Shame on you.

I am disgusted with the way WV Legal Aid that has handled my Case I am really saddened that we are in a world where LUNCH comes before someone's home, car and all that. Don't get me wrong I do not mind people being human but to be Tim Litten to listen to what I am going through put himself on MUTE then disconnect the call didn't call back and didn't say hey I'm going to lunch but hey as long as they have cars to drive a paycheck why should they care ? What do you get when you call LEGAL AID OF WV. the VOICEMAIL not help.

You know legal aid is a joke they are suppose to help people in need of a lawyer but I know someone who has tried to get help from them 4 or 5 different times and they told him everytime I'm sorry we can't help you so he had to go to court without a lawyer so he only gets visits with his children how can they say everyone deserves a lawyer to represent them in court when legal aid don't like to help people anymore why does the state of west Virginia even have a legal aid even a judge told him that legal aid has the ability to help the people in west Virginia but yet they pick a choose who they help everytime I think there should be a law in place that legal aid should be made to help every west Virginia residences that needs a lawyer

They prentend to call you twice and send you a later saying you have to submit a new applicatiin because you missed their call. Theres been 3 times where ive answered the phone only for them to hang up on me and i had to resubmit another application. Ive given the number to my job where theres a 24 hour receptionist and they never called but of course i got a letter saying i missed their calls and to do the application process again. This company should be ashamed of themselves.

I have inquired multiple time for help from them. They don't send paperwork out, call or even show up for court. The state needs to refund and disband this bunch of crooks.
