Legal aid was wonderful regardless of the fact they won’t help me, they really or should I say the young man JOSH I think his name was? Very sweet kid I could tell he really wanted to help me but without a case that’s money involved he couldn’t do anything. But he went above and beyond to explain things to me he sent me helpful information and was concerned about me and my situation. So legal aid was a good experience. I only hope the kid keeps his good heart and not turn cold in this profession

The Legal aid "helpline " is a joke! I spoke with an "intake specialist " over a month ago. I was told that some would contact me soon. No one from the organization has ever called. I have been calling ever since but no one answers the phone. I have waited on the phone for over an hour on more than one occasion and I always get disconnected. I have even sent emails and no one has ever replied.

I called as directed BY THEM and left message after message after message and no return call. When I went in person I was told someone from Raleigh would call me back. They did, but then informed me "we have no answering machine" I have the calls recorded! Let hand does not speak to the right and they do not update the system or inform other agencies using them if any policy changes.

If you do not know about legal aid then you need to do your homework. They helped me before with a sleazy slum lord and they can help you to. a lot of people think that what is happening is legal and they have no rights. unless you call and find out you will never know. call and find out and you will not only help yourself, you will help another tenant down the line by telling that land lord that they will not get away with this any longer!

Absolutely terrible!!!! first i was given an attorney that said she could not appear for my court date because she has a meeting that day. Spoke with a manager and got another attorney who decided to call me at 12pm on THE DAY BEFORE COURT and says she now has covid and has to be quarantined...spoke with the manager again and was told she had a stand in..that stand in now says she is busy with out of state cases.....bottom line these people are a JOKE and will not help i am now forced to defend myself since i cant afford to hold off another 2 months. DISGUSTING!!!
