When calling Legal Aid to help with a housing situation prior to an eviction, being told one would have to wait until they get a court date instead of being able to help before. Keep in mind once getting a court date 1. that will count against a tenant when applying for future housing 2. That could give tenant even less time to find new housing in this market making a family houseless. Is this really a viable option to help and prevent homelessness?

The website CLEARLY states they offer Family law but keep telling me they don’t repeatedly even after having a attorney Kelly Carol from legal aid poorly handled my case and even 2 years later I’m being treated unfairly and now Legal Aid know they screwed my case over and now they want even help or fix what they screwed me over they keep telling me they don’t help which is a BOLD FACE LIE! I’ve reached out 14 different times in the past 2 years seeking help but keep getting turned down! Mecklenburg county Legal aid is wrong for what they did to me and my family! And the fact that legal aid want even assist me on fixing it! DONT EVEN WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THESE BOGUS PEOPLE THEY WEBSITE CLEARLY SAYS THEY OFFER FAMILY LAW BUT KEEPS LYING TO ME SAYING THEY DONT! I know of 3 women currently getting help with legal aid with family law and it’s really grinds my gears that they keep lying to me and I’m really being treated unfairly on court! And it’s all because of this attorney through Legal Aid who screwed my case over Kelly Carol is a snake and she literally played both sides and lied to me about everything!

I would leave a ZERO STAR if I could . They are of no help . This is just as bad as an appointed lawyer requested from the courts . If you are seeking assistance with you as the plaintiff, don’t waste your time! People always want you to waste money on a private lawyer like I make money like that . Waste of space & time .

I called because they offer legal services to seniors 60 years old and above regardless of income. Unfortunately, they weren't able to answer my question because their services are limited. But definitely somewhere to check out before paying for an attorney if you're over 60.

I called this office for assistance with my landlord and they told me they couldn't help me. Then they told me to contact them after the third. I put an online inquiry in and They said they called but I didn't answer so they were closing my case. They never called at all and then they stopped answering the phone. I will be filing a complaint that these public servers are not helping the public. If they can not help the public then they don't need to be getting paid to just answer the phone and tell people they refuse to help

I never spoke with anyone about my problem. I did the return call option, but only received a voice mail. Calling back was only a repeat of the action above. I called and just waited on hold. No one ever answered then finally the call just ended. Very disappointing!!
