I called in requesting information and legal help regarding a case, and while they did not have the resources to help me pursue a case, they provided me with helpful resources that I could utilize. Truly wonderful service and I hope the people there the best.

I give 5 stars to Jill Kastner. She did an amazing job helping me. Outside of her help, Legal Action tries to do their best with what they can, but they are limited on funds. Don't expect to go to court to win a sum of money. They can't really help with that. They will do their best to mediate problems with the other side, get evictions removed, repairs done, etc.

My divorce involves abuse and nearly a month went by trying to find out if they would accept me as a client. I filled out the online form to see if I was eligible, which I am, and scheduled a call with a representative. This was misleading as I was left with the impression that I would be speaking with someone who could give me legal advice. No, the scheduled call was ONLY to verify the exact information I put on the online intake form. If you're desperate for an attorney, skip the online form and call, you'll save yourself at least a week of time that you could be looking for another lawyer. After I re-confirmed my eligibility during my redundant 1st scheduled call, a 2nd call was scheduled to speak to someone who could give legal advice. The advice I was given wasn't in any way helpful, leaving me with more questions than answers and I was then told to expect an email in a few days to find out if they could represent me or not because they only have 2 family law attorneys to cover 9 counties. I recieved the email later than I was told I would with the information that they could not represent me (which I almost understand since pro-bono representation is hard to come by, but they really wasted my time) and they would no longer give me legal advice. I can't even get advice? I can't follow up to learn the form numbers of the motions they recommended that I file (no, can't search for those forms on the specific county court website w/o knowing the form numbers). They did provide a phone number in the email in case I wanted to file a complaint, but what good would that do? It certainly won't help me obtain a laywer in a county where every lawyer wants a retainer between$5k-$30k due to the amount of paperwork involved. It won't help me get my children out of the hands of a narcissistically abusive parent (and worse spouse).

If I could rate a 0 I would. I was greeted rudely by 3 of the people I spoke with (none gave me legal advice or had any clue as to what I was talking about). They made sure to keep repeating that they only take certain cases, without hearing what the case was even about. Just sad trying to get help and the people working there have no sympathy.
