Throughout my complicated case, both my former employer and I personally have had to hire various attorneys throughout the Sacramento and Riverside/San Bernardino areas. If you are an educator or are somehow involved in education, please read this review very carefully. I highly doubt that you will find an attorney that is more genuine or as down-to-earth and skilled as Jonathan. After the first few moments of initially talking to him, I knew that I had literally 'struck gold.' That day, Jonathan discussed my case with me for about an hour. As a matter of fact, he discussed my case on several different occasions before charging his retainer fees. Without disclosing the amount, I can assure you that it was about a third of what my former teacher's union paid to one firm. In addition, Jonathan never ignored my calls/emails and he worked much harder than those other attorneys. After Jonathan was successful in reinstating my credential, I realized how truly lucky I was to find him.

Yes, this is a lengthy review but when you are facing discipline action by a licensing agency you need experience representation to save your livelihood.

When I received a letter from the California Teaching Commission indicating that they planned to revoke all of my educational credentials that I had earned over a 20 year career in education, I knew I needed to find a very experienced attorney that practices professional licensing law. Initially, I signed with a different licensing defensive attorney in Los Angeles. He sounded convincing and had a lot of experience but after 6 months I began to feel that that I was being bled dry by my attorney; and the worst part was after all the work I had paid for him to do and reach a resolution with CTC failed and the CTC still planned to revoke all of my credentials. My career would have been destroyed and my livelihood would have been decimated. So I resumed the search for a competent licensing defense attorney. Jonathan Turner took my initial call to discuss my situation over the phone late on a Friday, and never made me feel as though I was interrupting him. After speaking directly with Jonathan, he requested that I send him documents related to my case.

He recommended a few options and told me how to proceed with requesting the superior court to have my criminal records sealed pursuant 851.91 (The CARE Act) and 851.92. No other attorney I consulted with (approximately 15 attorneys) ever pointed me in this direction. The recommendations he provided me happened during my consultation; before I even hired him to represent me. I immediately terminated my contract with the previous attorney and hired Jonathan Turner to represent me even though he was in Sacramento and I live in Southern California. He was very accessible during the next 18 months (2 years in total for my case) it took to resolve my case with the CTC. He responded to my calls and emails during the entire ordeal. He was detail oriented and knew all of the nuances of my case. With his lengthy experience representing clients that are facing an administrative hearings, he was able to navigate the complexities with ease. He was able to mount persuasive defense and pointed out the weakness in CTC’s case against the allegations they made against me. As a result of his insight and knowledge of the administrative hearing process, the California Teaching Credentialing Board decided to withdraw all allegations against me and dismissed the case. The results could not have been better. I have been able to keep all of my credentials without any blemishes on my record.

It is evident to me that Jonathan has also devoted much of his practice to representing people facing administrative/licensing issues. His skills in handling such matters are truly needed by anyone that is facing discipline from a credential or licensing agency. I highly recommend Jonathan Turner if you are ever in need of legal services. My only regret is not contacting him sooner.
