Please explain why the communities before and after the Settler's Bay Subdivision turn-off at MP 8 have community mailboxes but the residents of Settler's Bay Subdivision have to go to the KGB Post Office? This facility is a privately owned and operated business contracted to the USPS. I particularly enjoy having to pay $75 every 90 days for a small mailbox while other like-kind subdivisions get there mail delivered to their community mailboxes by USPS employees. Since UPS and FedEx will not send parcels to a mailbox, parcels are not accepted. The management are rude, condescending and temperamental which is reflected in the high turn-over in Staff.

The staff here are some of the rudest people I've ever met. I never leave bad reviews but this needs to be said. They've lost multiple packages of mine and won't even spend two seconds to check to see if they have them, they just tell me to check the main branch. The same main branch who already sent me an APOLOGY email telling me that MY PACKAGE WAS AT THE KGB BRANCH. Amazing. Then rather than just speaking to me like an actual human being, the "manager" slides a card my way and tells me to write down my info and they would look for it, without ever looking me in the face, and swiftly walks away. Not a word otherwise. These people are awful and I don't say that lightly.

Like many Alaskans, the USPS does not deliver to my home, and the location was very convenient for a PO Box when I obtained one at this location. However, they relocated, and the new location is on a busy road with no traffic lights or turn lanes to deal with the traffic at the new intersection. The intersection is now unsafe for all traffic. The parking lot is still unfinished, and in my opinion not safe for business. The new post office is clean and a nice facility. The staff is usually helpful, but a little like the Russian KGB in enforcing there own rules and regs concerning timeliness of picking up your packages, etc. Also, they won't deal with UPS or FedEx so it adds more time to your delivery, on top of the usual delays being in Alaska. They also won't take plastic...can you believe it. What was supposed to be a convenience or service to make my life easier has only complicated it. You can certainly pick up your mail and USPS packages easily, but don't expect any service outside of that.

There was a lady employee who was quite rude to me today. In the past ive been told i can drop UPS packages off there to ship by employees, which I thought was strange, but ok cool. Today i brough a ups package in ans one of the employees seemed to take it personally when i asked if they still took ups packages and started being rude and insulting. I dont care to argue so I tried to walk away and as I was leaving she followed me out contiuing to yell at me. I walked away but that took alot because she made me want to go off on her, but I spared her. I know usps is useless and will do nothing, but people should beware, there is a that works here and is not worth dealing with.

It's so frustrating to be expecting a package only to discover it was returned by the "local annex" marked as address unknown and/or undeliverable. Or my other favorite scenario; repeatedly chasing down where & when a package was delivered & who signed for it. Driving out to the Palmer-Wasilla location, sometimes more than once! Only to discover the package had been sitting at the KGB annex the whole time! Even though they swore they'd looked everywhere and it was definitely not there. SURPRISE, it was! Makes you wonder how much mail we're not necessarily expecting is "lost".

Slow, mean, crabby dirty place, they never answer the phone. Have their employees park up-close while everyone else that has to run in and out real quick park farther away. If you don't like to service people than get out of the business.

This is the best post office in Alaska and maybe the world. Nina and the other employess therfe provide great service and always big smiles. I have used that post office since 1997, It is like dealing with your friends and they seem genuinely glad to see me when I get my mail. This is like Alaska used to be.

One gets excellent help and the employess are very patience with older people like me who is slower than I used to be, even to helping me with to my truck with heavy pracels that my back can't handle.

I have tried repeatedly to call and put mail deliver on hold. I can only get a recording that runs in circles. What ever happened to customer service? I want a person, not a machine that is easily confused ?
