Doug was the best attorney I could have asked for when I got pulled over in Virginia. He took the time to get to know me as not only a client but as a person. I obtained Ms. Hicks services 3 days prior to my court date for allegedly going 87 in a 70 zone in VA. Due to an emergency, I could not appear. She responded to my inquiry the same day. I was stopped on 95 in Va going south. I was cited for 89 in a 70 mph zone. Upon research of Va laws I found this offense to be strict. I contacted Ms Hicks for advice. I never speed because I usually set my cruise control on the highway, but I just got on route I-95N from Emporia, VA (I.E. speed trap just over the state line) and somehow my car rolling down that hill along with traffic ...I was clocked at 82MPH. From this I learned to never be the last car in a pack! I was so upset because I really never speed! While researching the violation number on the ticket I found Ms. Hicks profile and how she could help me. I was not thinking about hiring an attorney at first, but after thinking about the alternative costs in a guilty plea paying an expensive ticket and then increased insurance rates I figured it was worth it! The points would transfer to my state so I had to fight it! She was able to reduce my reckless driving (speeding over 80 MPH in a 70 MPH is reckless driving in VA!) to a non-point offense.
