My wife and I took a tutorial on Reels as we want to use them to grow our practice. Our first Reel was a test run; nothing to do with business. Now, I have roughly 450 IG followers and I've never had more than maybe 100 'likes' or 'follows' or whatever. The reel we posted has garnered 3,076 follows in only a few hours. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?!?!?! Whatever you do, whether it be for personal or business, LISTEN TO THESE WONDERFUL LADIES!

As a member of JHQ there are always so many events, networking, and educational opportunities available. The first event I attended was a Galantines event celebrating the women of JHQ. Everyone was welcoming and it was encouraging to see fellow female attorneys discuss their experiences and difficulties in the profession.

I also attended the JHQ Mentor Power Hour hosted by Liz Hernandez and Cynthia Santiago. This event was especially exciting for me because both these attorneys discussed the importance of diversity and inclusion in the profession. It was inspirational to see fellow Latinas who have preserved despite facing obstacles including implicit and explicit bias.

The most recent event I attended was JHQ’s Basics of Employment Law hosted by Ashely Davenport and Andrew Hillier. I don’t practice employment law but I have always been interested in learning more about the types of issues that arise in this area of law. The seminar was informative, covered various topics including wage/hour claims and tort-based claims. I loved that the seminar was via zoom and easily accessible. It also included MCLE credit!

As a member of JHQ, you are surrounded by kind, caring, and inspirational individuals who want to help. Being able to connect via events, educational seminars, and other networking opportunities has been great. I’m looking forward to more mentoring and educational opportunities!
