Julia Purchase is irresponsible, incompetent, and unprofessional. Refused to read the “narrative” statement she asked both parties to complete - which provides the case history and impact on the child. Her report to the mediator/arbitrator misquoted court documents that were provided, had dates that were wrong, and omitted key facts supporting her “reasoning.” The CFI was a pointless, expensive, time consuming excercise that did nothing to resolve conflict or improve outcomes for the child involved. Get a PRE or find a different CFI.

Very biased! Not very professional. Putting the puzzle pieces together were very difficult for her. I provided evidence to what I was saying, while my kids mom had no evidence but some how managed to convince Julia, the lie was truth. I am very disappointed in our system based on the fact my kids are the ones to suffer due to Julia's, lack of diligence and disregard to what's really in the best interest of the mids. Good luck to all you real men out there, this lady I feel is siding with women regardless of how much they abandon the kids, police reports provided, attendance and pooping in and out of the kids life. I also attempted to leave a rating with the others on Avvo however, that was reviewed and not approved. Which means that too is filtered and miss leading. I guess this would matter or have any bearing because our courts go to this lady so work is handed to her. I would encourage all of you who have been denied to leave poor ratings in Avvo to do so here on Google.

Avvo did finally approved my rating however I had to trim the fat for approval.

I will send you Julia's CFI report and you can totally decide for yourself. In the report it will show Julia reach out to my girlfriend to talk to her and other family members of mine. In this report it will show nothing about Julia reaching out to talk to the new man in which my daughter will be living with why or any of Alinas family?
In the report I stated to my stepson the reasons why it would be best for him to stay with his mom full time in the report Julia asked my step son why I decided to leave hom with his mom he confirmed what I said was true. After confirmation of the discussion and decision, Julia then states "Lance seems to believe" ( like I'm delusional ). Then she asked my step son who attempted suicide if he thinks I'm stable he says no and she put In the report it seems that Jameson believes I am unstable. Now mind you he hasn't seen me In over a year how would he know? And why would she put that on the report? I gave evidence of the cops being called because the mother abandoned the kids at school social services was going to be called but that didn't make it into Julia's report. I gave police records of domestic violence in the mothers home in which guns were present and locked up, and again that wasnt in the report. I have given police records of the mother tardy, absent and over 34 occurrences at school due to the moms actions and that did not make it into the report. On top of all this 2 years previous Julia states she has no doubt the mother will due better and the mother did not due better infact it got worse and Julia still found that tbe mother is still in the best Interest of my daughter? Why because I got another DUI what do you expect? When your kids mom comes and goes, kids are hurt all the time, one tries to take his life, you make his mom stay around by not being there for him forcing his mother to actually be a mom, that tough decisions broke me down and turned me into a weak and vulnerable person. I'm sorry im human but out of all the issues presented I front of her she overlooked hundreds of mistakes for the kids mother and my one mistake costed my kids a promising future.

Very biased! I wish I would’ve read Lances review from 4 yrs ago because everything he said is exactly how my investigation played out. I was told by my lawyer Julia favors a 50/50 schedule. She was also the more expensive option, over $3000. She only added one day to my every other weekend schedule. And all the lies my ex wife said to her, she took for truth, regardless of the police reports and text messages I provided. They weren’t even included in her final report. Very biased and very unprofessional, she hadn’t even opened the emails I sent to her til the follow up call just before the final report was due! Saddest part is my kids are the ones who suffer from her unprofessional behavior. Good luck to all you men out there fighting the good fight! Don’t give up!! And don’t go with Julia if you get the chance to pick your CFI like I did. $1675 in her pocket, while my kids go without their father.

Like other reviewers I wish I would have read her reviews before allowing her to be added to the list of CFI's that my lawyer's office suggested. Julia is a robot with no expression or thought given to the true well being of the child involved. I was told in court that she questioned my credibility as I had "too many" allegations against my son's father because I told the truth of a history of abuse, drug use and selling. It does not benefit to tell the truth about the other parent. I would have been much better off if I lied to her about what I was dealing with. She even asked him to pull his own police report about a domestic violence charge on his record rather than doing the research herself. When he claimed he couldn't get it she let him explain it away. We were able to obtain the report which spoke of him choking a woman unconscious. She also failed to speak to the girlfriend after me who also experienced domestic violence to the point that she was too afraid to speak in court. If you are a victim of domestic violence DO NOT USE this woman. You will be re-traumatized and be accused of making up allegations.

Despite the fact that his father averaged giving away 1 day month out of his 8 she noted that he did not give away a significant amount of time and failed to mention that he has never scheduled/taken my son to one doctor, eye, or dental appointment. My child's father also had a babysitter we knew nothing about and that she never mentioned to me in her "investigation', despite the fact that child care was to be mutually agreed upon.

Julia conducted two phone interviews for her "investigation" and took the word of my son's father's witnesses and left out information from my witnesses entirely in her report. My three year old will now be split between households 50/50 even though he has never been with his father that much in his life. She is a disgrace to her profession. DO NOT USE!

See the same robotic answer she gives all negative reviews. Do your research and hire someone who actually investigates your case for the sake of your children

I have been a family law attorney for nearly 14 years. I retain Julia Purchase for as many of my family law mediations as possible (she's my "go to" frankly). Julia is not only very knowledgeable, but her approach is firm and realistic with the parties. She offers trustworthy guidance to counsel when helpful or necessary. I would say most cases settle when I select Julia as a mediator. You are appreciated, Julia!

I wish I would have read these reviews before hiring her. Chosen by my ex's attorney, she was obviouly biased from the start. I did one intake video conference with her and refused to talk to her again. Her tone was unfriendly and her questions were accusatory in nature. She put me on the defensive immediately which made me second guess my answers. When I read the report, it was clear that she took everything my ex said at face value as truth. portraying my ex this poor poor woman who is only trying to do right in the world has to suffer the the existance of her terrible ex husband. Everything I said was in quotes making it seem questionable and if she was forced to write anything good about me, it was followed immediately with a "but". It's almost as if she was making a little extra on the side to really tear into me. But that doesn't happen, not in our legal system. However, she did talk about how little money she was making versus the time she has to spend on each case. Hmmmmm.....

Robot. No realistic, Sympathetic thoughts or opinions for the child. No point of having a mediator if it’s her. Wants to get the job done, impatient. It’s very very sad.
