We went with arbitration for our divorce because lawyers advised Arbiters have more time to review all the evidence and come to a fair decision. That didn't happen.

Our Arbiter was demonstrably biased. Found me "not credible" for no factual reason. The "reasons" presented were just reiterating my partner's talking points.

Our Arbiter further found minor fault with all my witnesses, including misquoting one, and used that as an excuse to dismiss their testimony completely. The Arbiter's decision included "Findings of Fact" that were not supported by evidence or case law. Ostensibly that was to save us money but we paid a flat rate so it really just saved the Arbiter time.

Also to "save money" no record of the proceedings was kept. The Arbiter also failed to submit any evidence or documentation into the court record so there was nothing in the record to refute the Arbiter's decision.

When asked to submit the evidence after the fact the Arbiter wanted to charge additional money. Then opposing counsel filed a motion to not have the evidence submitted which cost even more money. Meanwhile the decision itself was wholly inadequate and would require we go back to court in a years time to sort out the parenting plan.

So I agree with the other one star reviews. Absolutely look elsewhere.

I was involved in an accident that required court ordered mediation before going to trial. Our arbiter was very patient, super friendly and handled all of the associated drama with professionalism and dignity. He made sure I was clear on the proceedings and what exactly I would be agreeing to when we finally reached a settlement, even though I had an excellent attorney as well. I would highly recommend Patrick Murphy and the Judge Arbiter Group for anyone needing mediation in any matter.

I would never recommend a mediation/arbitration organization that failed to scrutinize its members as JAG has done here. Thomas French had resigned from his post as District Court Judge for Larimer County in 2020. Now that he is a member of the Judicial Arbiter Group (JAG), I believe his actions as the former judge must be made public, as this involved his abuse of discretion in supporting my opponents motion to enforce settlement - where there was no settlement. Mr. French displayed an ignorance of Colorado statutes supporting integrity of the mediation process, including his dismissal of confidentiality, protected mediation communications, and mediator neutrality. His order granting the opposing parties' enforcement of settlement featured numerous blunders, including one statement where he indicated an email authored by the mediator was not made in the "presence of the mediator." French was so haphazard in his reasoning, that on appeal, the appellate court described his remarks as absurd and rejected his decision. The higher court reversed and remanded the case back to the district court, but only after long delays and unnecessary legal costs. We have a new judge and one that actually considers statute and case law as written. However, I wanted to provide this review here as I am aware that Mr. French is associated with the Judicial Arbiter Group. Considering that competent and neutral mediation and arbitration are central to the JAG mission, it is simply incredible that French has ended up with this organization. I feel sorry for the litigant or company that would be straddled with French as their mediator.

Actually... Do not use this company.... Even though they are former judges.... I use former loosely. They are NOT aware of the actual laws and process pertaining to your case. This is a cookie cutter way for them to solve problems while using their former titles as entitlement. Thay are manipulative. Make sure read all the fine print. Dealing with this company no wonder why the Colorado Judicial System is being investigated. Make sure yoy are aware of your rights and do not back down and do not let them tell you otherwise. Know you have rights. Know the law as they do NOT!!!!

Former Boulder County District Court Judge Murray Richtel is anything but a good arbitrator. I have never had such a one sided discussion in my life, and I have seen excellent negotiators work with both sides even if they cannot come to an agreement.

The Plaintiff was allowed to contact him for over a week in advance of the supposed "Fair" arbitration, and Mr. Richter's introduction to our side started with a character attack from the plaintiff. You would assume that he would at least discuss our side before making a judgment. Certainly not the kind of performance we were led to believe would happen at JAG. Even if you don't win, you expect to at least get to tell your side of the case.

None of the facts of the case were properly reviewed, none of the defense evidence completely reviewed, and not a single witness from our side or a witness that we both had listed was used, only the Plaintiff's witness was contacted. He only aided the other side in a character attack. Even when asked to review a witness both plaintiff ANDdefendant had worked with to help explain the case, he refused, and called someone the plaintiff supplied. This was done in the plaintiff's room with no interaction from us, so again, incredibly one sided.

Former Boulder County District Court Judge Murray Richtel should not be trusted with your case. I do hear good things about JAG which is why we are so disappointed in our surprisingly one sided session.

Arbiter came into our case with her mind made up before hearing the facts.

Find another group. This one will cost you thousands.
