Unfortunately, our experience with Melinda was not good. She is very hard to get in touch with. She doesn't return phone calls, texts, emails, for weeks at a time. I kept hearing how she really cares about her clients; however, we did not see that at all. She barely met with my son, and really had no idea the ins and outs of his case. He committed a crime, and he deserves to do his time, but we had no guidance whatsoever. Instead of getting the 10 years that was mandatory, he ended up getting 15 years because Melinda had no information to defend him in court. She didn't even bring his file to court with her.

This is the most unethical attorney, she don't call you back. She tell you she handling thing and you research it and its not done. She took vacation twice in just about a month. Left my 6 year old twins case hanging. Had to hire another attorney because of her incompetence. Now, filing a formal grievance with the Georgia Bar Association to get my thousands of dollars back. I'm retired law enforcement 26 years and never has i experience such ethical conduct from an attorney. Keep your money. You can contact me if you like because I'm going to fight legally until she give me my money back. Please complete a grievance form and report her.

Review Title: Lack of Commitment and Care in My Custody Case

I had a deeply disappointing experience with Melinda Johnson at Johnson Law Firm located Conyers. Ga.  I hired her to help me secure custody of my daughter, a case that was extremely important to me and my child’s future. Unfortunately, Atty Johnson showed little concern, effort, or urgency in handling it.

Communication was terrible—I had to constantly follow up for updates, and when I did receive responses, they were vague and unhelpful, right before the court date. Instead of providing strong legal guidance, I felt like my case was an afterthought i.e. such as missed deadlines, lack of court preparation, or failure to present strong arguments.

What upset me the most was the complete lack of empathy and dedication toward ensuring the best outcome for my daughter.  Many conversations materialized into a condescending and accusatory meeting with me. It became so apparent of her thoughts, that one day I had to ask her “Do you even Like me”.  Her reply was, “Well sometimes you come off as Angry”.  As a black man today’s climate, her response was very alarming”.   As a lawyer, not being able to distinguish the difference between someone being anger vs. Someone being passionate about the wellbeing of their child is beyond my comprehension.  The lack of cultural sensitivity is also an issue with this firm.

Custody cases are not just legal battles; they shape a child's future. I expected my lawyer to fight for me and my child, but instead, I felt ignored and unsupported throughout the entire process.

I would not recommend Melinda Johnson of the Johnson Law Firm to anyone seeking a lawyer who truly cares about their clients and their families. If you need an attorney who will be proactive, responsive, and genuinely invested in your case, I suggest looking elsewhere.

This woman is ridiculous and very unethical! She lacks communication. She will go months without responding to your calls/texts/emails or even with updates. She does not explain things to her clients. I ended up having to hire my boyfriend a new lawyer after Melinda ghosted him, his mom and myself.

I was referred to Melinda Johnson in 2020 when a family member needed legal representation. Melinda is honest, upfront, and thorough. She informed us of the worst and best-case scenarios and what she was fighting for on behalf of my family member. Melinda truly cares about her client's well-being, mental health, and stability from my experience with her. The person who referred us to Melinda was highly pleased with her service and the outcome she successfully won for their case. On our day in court, Melinda "showed up and showed out." Needless to say, she DID NOT disappoint our family either. I've used other attorneys for one thing or another before 2020, but they were not efficient in court as she was and is. Recently my family retained Melinda for legal counsel. As expected, she went above and beyond for us yet again! Melinda Johnson has become our family attorney for life.

overall my experience was good! I got what I wanted at the end of this criminal case that I never would imagined would got resolved the way it did for me and my people. She is a great lawyer! Never met another lawyer who is so serious about their job ! great outcome I will definitely stay in touch with her and recommend people to go to her. thanks mrs.Johnson for making me and my family happy it was very hard work yet it was all worth the hard fight to prove a BLACK YOUNG MAN innocence and that is the most thing that matters.

Initially Melinda Johnson seemed nice enough, but after being a customer for almost two months I can say that she is the most inept attorney I've ever dealt with. Admittedly I don't have much experience with attorneys in Georgia, so maybe this is the way they operate here, but I've dealt with several in other states and the way she treats clients would be inexcusable anywhere else. I have proof of numerous unanswered text messages I've sent her, and I can't even count the times she told me that she would call me and has only done so one time. She was very communicative before receiving a deposit (go figure). I can't speak for anyone else at that office, but judging by my experience with Melinda, I would advise anyone to stay far away and spend your money someplace else. Forgot to mention another thing, the office doesn't even have a number you can reach a live person, despite having two old women working at the front desk (who are very nice by the way), which should be inexcusable for a (supposedly) reputable firm and a huge red flag in itself. I wish I would have read the reviews before hiring her, the amount of people unhappy with her is very alarming and makes you wonder how is this law group even able to acquire new clients at his point. I guess anyone who hires them must have skipped doing their research first, as have I.

Worst excuse for a lawyer I had ever seen in my life. Doesn’t communicate, will never answer a phone call, and unprofessional. If you’re looking for piece of mine please skip over Johnson law firm as an option. I paid her 1750 and she sent papers to me saying that she is no longer my lawyer, no refund. Threatened to stop working on my case when I told her I need more communication( with no refund) about a month after the first payment. I have never observed such a childish group of people. She does not keep up with the payments you send her! I paid in full months ago and recently was asked when my final payments would be made. I had to prove I made them!! 0 stars!!!!
