I feel it’s important to share my experience with John, my attorney, which was incredibly frustrating and disheartening. Unfortunately, my time with him was far more distressing than the actual court proceedings. It became apparent a few months into to a lengthy court battle that his priorities were not aligned with mine. In this small town, it seems that the legal system operates on relationships rather than the best interests of clients. The system supports the system.

My custody case, arising from a long-standing and contentious situation with my ex-husband—who has a knack for manipulating the legal system—should have been manageable. However, the pervasive "good old boy" network made it clear that my chances of success were severely compromised, especially when proper legal procedures were overlooked and neglected.

John failed to present several crucial pieces of evidence during my trial. After investing nearly $30,000 in his services, I found it exceedingly difficult to communicate with him. He often ignored my calls unless I constantly reached out, and when he did respond, his attitude was dismissive, condescending, chauvinistic and unprofessional. It was so hard to feel confident in his representation. Even though I considered switching attorneys after enduring a lengthy two-and-a-half-year battle, the thought of starting over was both daunting and financially burdensome.

It was also troubling to discover that John had a documented history of neglecting important evidence in court cases. He has a bar complaint from another client for not including evidence in a trial so this wasn’t his first time doing this. I learned he had a personal relationship with my ex-husband’s lawyer, which raised serious questions about his impartiality. Trusting someone with your family's future and life’s only to face additional obstacles your lawyer is creating is beyond frustrating.

Furthermore, John raised his fees without any advance notice to me, and when I inquired about over $2,000 in unaccounted charges, he was evasive and unhelpful. I never did receive that money back or an explanation.

A simple search of his name on the "Remove Judge Hancock" group on Facebook reveals numerous complaints from others who have faced similar issues with his unethical practices. My experience with him was just as unsettling as the challenges posed by my ex-husband. In times of vulnerability, you want to rely on your attorney to protect you and your family , but my experience felt like an extension of the very abuse I was trying to escape.

I cannot recommend John as an attorney. I urge anyone seeking legal representation to conduct thorough research and consider all available options.

My friend hired John and he is the most unprofessional attorney I have ever heard of. He does not communicate with his clients and when you question him he threatens to quit. He was fired!! Idiot!!

I hired John to be my attorney three years ago. It is turned into a pretty complicated case and John has been top-notch the whole way. Dealing with issues regarding decision-making and visitation with children is incredibly stressful as anyone knows who has experienced it. Having John, and Rosemary, in my corner put me at ease because I knew they had my son’s best friends interest first and foremost. John is a straightforward, stern attorney who isn’t afraid to take charge and make things happen. He also wasn’t afraid to tell me when I was being irrational or unreasonable which I appreciated. There were definitely times I called John very upset during the last few years.

As with any of these cases, there is always some bittersweet sweet aspect. John helped me get full custody of my son when he was 2 and helped him get away from a dangerous and volatile situation with his mother when he was 3 months old. What happened with his mother was sad but ultimately John helped me achieve the best outcome for my son and I am very grateful to him for that. If you want an attorney that will work hard for you and be honest, John is your guy.

I’m glad I hired John Mull to be my divorce attorney. John is unpretentious, even-keeled and candid. He is also a realist, which I certainly came to value, even if I always didn’t necessarily like what I was being told in the moment. John can be forceful when necessary, but he isn’t one for unnecessary theatrics. Since the stakes were high in my divorce, these were the qualities I came to value and appreciate in John Mull.

I believe John genuinely cares about his clients. John signaled to me immediately in the process that he wanted to find a compromise that both parties could live with in order to avoid running up costly legal bills and wasting a lot of time. This was very important because I felt he was not only representing his interest, but also mine.

Finally, although it is important that you find an attorney you are comfortable working with I can’t help thinking it is equally important, if not more, to select an attorney who the presiding judge will respect. I left the court with the impression that Judges prefer to work with attorneys who have a reputation for being balanced and honest. John fits this bill.

At First I thought I had made a mistake in hiring John Mull, because I didn’t think he was moving fast enough for me. I wanted my divorce to be over with now. Well he guided me through everything step by step and come to find out that it works at the court’s pace. He was awesome and just a total team player reminding me that he was on top of it and to cast my worries aside. I’m glad I got him for my attorney he is one smart man and delivered on everything he promised. I would use him for all my legal matters if I need him again.

Divorce is never easy. I walked into John Mull's office for a consultation and walked out a client. I remember getting in my car relieved someone else was going to help me carry this burden. John and his staff were very professional, clear, and concise in their communications with opposing attorney.

Present anything you can think of that will help your case, John knows the law, he knows what will be permitted and what will not be permitted, and will advise you accordingly.

Dude took our money promised the world and delivered nothing but worse results. Absolutely did nothing for our case but made it worse. Complete waste of money and time with John mull. Would not recommend this lawyer to get custody of your dog let alone your children. See you in court. We will be fighting for our money back in full as you would not answer phone calls or emails until about the 10th time and a demand. You did not fight our case like you said you would. You did not stand up for us in the court room. You did nothing but make things worse.
