I really hoped that my attorney Randall Wakefield would perform the minimum expectations of a lawyer. This was unfortunately very far from true and it would be best to find a different firm. I say this because when I had an issue and asked to be connected with someone above him, he immediately threatened to withdraw from my case putting me in a bad corner.
After the apposing party and I came to an agreement, Randall sent me the settlement agreement to sign in front of a notary to be filed. When I reviewed it, the number one factor that I would not agree to was the first thing on the document. Randall admitted that he did not even open the document (minimum expectation of an attorney). Reminder: it was a final document that needed to be signed in front of a notary to be filed in the court. Then…. The opposition sent him the corrected settlement (thank God I didn’t trust Randall). The other attorney removed the section in question but added another requirement. AGAIN!… Randall did not review the document and sent it to me to be signed in front of a notary 🤯. I asked him again if he even opened it. He responded that he’d like to believe that the other attorney would do that 🤦‍♂️(seriously, this is an actual attorney). So if you want a firm that is not going to review documents because they trust the opposition over your family’s future, Randall with Hall Estill is for you.

Randall was also VERY incorrect on the courts authority over a specific topic. His misunderstanding cost me a lot of money. When I expressed my concern, his entire email response was “agree to disagree” 🤯🤦‍♂️. So, if you need a firm that will send a three word response to your concerns, Hall Estill is for you.

I emailed President Stephen W. Ray in Tulsa since Randall told me that I could not talk to anyone else in his Fayetteville office (I was left with no options). Stephen pushed me to the side for literal weeks. I continued to follow up and he set an afternoon to call me. Nothing…. He ghosted me and I wasted an afternoon. I followed up yet again and he gave me multiple excuses ranging from him preparing for a trial to an attorney suddenly leaving (🤔🤔🤔). So, if you need a law office that’s Attourney will tell you that you can’t speak to their boss, then get ghosted by the president because he’s busy with clients that haven’t received an astronomical bill yet, Randall and president Stephen with Hall Estill is for you.

Then!…. After paying an original $1,500 retainer, they sent me a bill for $3,900!!! This was after I reached out to their president and already received a final invoice for $900(ish) more. Now… let me highlight that Randall told me that he’d get it done for $1,500 as long as we don’t go to trial. There was minimal back and forth to settle (and all done in person in one single meeting). We NEVER went to trial. Somehow, Randall feels that these services were worth $5,400 for a simple divorce. This is more than twice what my long, terrible 1st divorce was that went to trial, plus the two people before us’s divorce.

I pray that my experience and opinion helps just one person not get hurt worse during one of the most difficult times of their life.

I finally connected via phone with Stephen and he has somewhat stood tall and has been trying to help in some manner. As of now, no response from Randall…. Not surprised

Tyler Benson with Hall Estill recently represented me in a custody contempt case against my ex-husband. Throughout the entire process Tyler and his team were communicative, professional and extremely empathetic. Tyler coordinated with the opposing party's attorney and the ad litem in my case, advising me of my available options based on this discourse and the circumstances that were given. Me and my ex were able to come to an agreement to present the judge before the final hearing that I feel was fair to all parties, thanks in no small way due to Tyler's diligence and attention to detail in my case. Thank you Tyler, Molly and everyone at Hall Estill for being in my corner!
