Eric Zale...I cannot put all he did wrong in one place, but it was a mistake to hire him.

I realized after the fact he is so over extended with too many clients that he has trouble getting to his clients hearings. Gave me inaccurate legal "advice", just completely dropped the ball. Lied to me, you name it.

I had to beg for a meeting with him prior to a hearing, one day before a hearing he sets up an appointment at his then office and doesn't show. I actually never saw him after signing a contract. I even tried to use the excuse to pay him to get him to meet with me.

What he did so negatively affected the outcome of the case and caused me so much distress. It qualifies as malpractice. But distress isn't compensatable in malpractice I'm told.

Honestly I wish I just knew why he did this to me? It was already a bad situation and his actions or inaction made it so much worse.

He either didn't know the law or I don't know what his excuse was? I was given inaccurate "legal" advice that could have had more of a significant negative impact than it did.

My favorite was when he told me to scan and email him some legal documents I was served. I learned later these are already filed and scanned with the court and were visible to him all the time.

These were documents that were served to me. He said he would accept service weeks prior, but it turns out in this kind of situation he can't take service in my stead. I asked him at the time why I was served through the window of my car in a parking lot 2 weeks after he said he would accept service...his response? "I don't know".....and on and on.....so distressing.

Anyone who lies to or simply "forgets" their clients...well it's up to you.

He sends other attorneys in his stead without discussing this with the client in advance and this alone can have negative consequences in a case.
