Loved our stay here! Elegant old hotel with updated everything...but still retains a classic charm. Room was comfortable and clean with all new fittings and fixtures. (I was kind of hoping for a more antique/vintage/original feel, but once we were settled in, I appreciated the modernity of all the appointments).Cocktail from the bar was fantastic! The seating areas off the lobby were comfortable and pleasant to use. Dinner at the restaurant was elegant. Breakfast at the cafe was delicious (coffee and savory pastry). Staff were all friendly, helpful and accommodating.Highly recommend.

I recently stayed at El Capitan, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The hotel is beautifully decorated, with many thoughtful details that make it truly stunning. My room was clean and well-maintained, with a comfortable bed, and the bathroom was spotless, equipped with all the necessary amenities.||I really appreciated the hotel's decor and the convenience of self-parking at no extra charge.||However, one major downside was the $100 per night deposit, with the hotel informing me that the refund could take up to 35 days to process. This was quite inconvenient and unexpected.||A pleasant surprise was the food at RAINBIRD—excellent quality and beautifully presented. However, the service left much to be desired; it was far too slow, from being seated to placing our order and finally receiving our food.||At Native Son, the menu was very limited, and unfortunately, the service did not meet expectations either.

I love this hotel. It’s our second time here for our annual Yosemite trip. The hotel is incredibly clean and the furniture/ atmosphere is almost rustic and keeps with a nature vibe. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. Great hotel!

I never knew Merced had such a nice hotel. We usually stay at a chain hotel on our way to Yosemite and we were pleasantly surprised to find this charming hotel. Great amenities and comfort were offered. There was even a record player in the room with records to play. Our room was perfect and comfortable. There was an excellent restaurant downstairs and a fully equipped gym. The hotel is located in a walkable area with lots of restaurants and shops.

This hotel was so lovely and the location was perfect! The rooms were well designed and super cute. There is a restaurant and coffee shop/cocktail spot too. The gym has the perfect amount of equipment. You can walk to all the spots in downtown Merced as an added bonus. Highly recommend!

This is a lovely hotel, however, self parking is limited, and they don’t have a swimming pool. The hotel itself is beautiful! It has several restaurants inside. We had our breakfast coffee at a place called Native son and we ate breakfast and dinner at Rainbird. Unless you go with valet parking, which is $15 extra, it’s street parking only. My travel companion has a handicap placard, so we were able to park right in front of the hotel.

Everything about this hotel works.. from the location, service, design and restaurants. We so enjoyed our stay this weekend. ||It’s understated, cozy and great little touches that make your stay special. The lobby area is beautiful with great patio, cozy ready nooks and beautiful art. But the design in the rooms is equal to the lobby. My favorite was the bathroom with the stand alone tub and rainfall shower. Perfection
