Please don’t read the angry reviews. The staff consists of the most professional people. The most caring people. Adam, with Information, took the time to walk me to the correct building! I was immediately helped by a security guard, and I have never experienced such genuine empathy and kindness from the staff. Thank you, Justine, with Child Support Services, for listening and understanding. You are a true hero! I don’t know what the other reviews experienced, but they are absolutely wrong. The City of Denver offers hope and help with DHS and child support services.

This is really just pitiful. Colorado is a sad excuse for a state, but the laughable joke they call "social services" in this state really take the cake. Every single time I have had to call this department (always due to THEIR own mistakes & woeful incompetency), every single employee has been rude, short and unhelpful. Hey, here's an idea - hire ACTUAL SOCIAL WORKERS for SOCIAL WORK positions, instead of just grabbing homeless people off the street and shoving them behind a desk. I have had my "benefits" for less than half a year here. Five months. I have already had them delayed for TWO out of those five months, with one delay taking so long that it actually missed the entire month. Nearly every single month, their own laughable incompetency causes them to put my food stamps on hold, threaten to fully remove us from all programs, and demand we provide them the exact same documents we already have FIVE TIMES BY NOW. Get it together, this feels like I'm dealing with LITERAL toddlers that were, for no reason, put in charge of an entire state.

My mother has cancer and the phone operators have repeatedly hung up on her. Today, she was placed on hold and hung up on. Please, please, reconsider reviewing the mannerisms, morals, and empathy of the employees as they unfortunately seem to lack. They are not there to help. Representatives also do not give out their full name. I suggest you ask every employee for their name, employee number, and supervisor so they can at least be reported.

No communication, documents have been submitted for 2 weeks and still no benefits. I transferred from Arapahoe county and sad since they have their act together and clearly Denver is lacking in productivity. It's not hard to verify documents and approve. What is really going on in Denver?

I can’t get snap because I don’t have a phone. I can’t get a hold of anyone and I keep trying to go in to tell them I need to schedule an in person interview and my case just gets rejected because they can’t get a hold of me, despite never trying. I’m not going to eat today unless I beg. That is the quality of service you should expect from these people. I don’t know if there is a god or heaven, but I have no doubt these people will go to Hell. They deserve nothing less.

After 4 years of dealing with DHS I can honestly give a honest review. I would give zero stars if I could. I feel like no one cares because whenever I have to recertify or apply for something new it's a nightmare. It's always this I get emails and text messages that say thank you we've received all of your documents we will contact you if we need to. On top of that I call and wait on hold about 10 hours a week to make sure quadruple check that my documents received and correct I get told yes yes yes but now here I sit with two denial letters in my hands and the website says pending. I've done everything I'm supposed to do. I am in a real bad spot now so what is the truth? Do you contact people if you need another document no you sure don't and people I call a lot and I've got the call logs and the bills to prove it and sit on hold and I get told no everything's fine everything's fine and it's not fine and then I get denied and then the story changes then it's you have an outdated version of a med nine but it's a current signature from a current doctor and now I have no food I have no cash assistance because of the incompetence. So folks be prepared to be super stressed out and even if you call and quadruple check you don't get the truth The truth is when you get your denial letter and you have to call back it's been the most horrible experience having to recertify anything. Let alone apply for something. Especially when you do all the right things and you get denied due to people not caring and horrible customer service and lying to you.
