Our local library has a depressingly low selection of children’s books. Many of them are dirty and old. They no longer participate in the Gateway Program, which means you cannot get a library card in Conway (or anywhere else) to have more variety— you’re just stuck with the few shelves of books we have here. Our children deserve better than this.

no one is a bigger proponent of the library industry than me. i love libraries; i've frequented them my whole life. that being said, this is by far the worst library i've ever been to. their policies are antiquated and the entire system is archaic.

it seems like it's operated under the guise that going in there is a privilege instead of a right.

it wouldn't hurt to reiterate, worst library I've ever been to.

After considerable dedication, the women of the Morrilton Pathfinder Club received funding from the Carnegie Foundation to finance a library for the city, becoming the smallest in the south to qualify for such an honor. Designed by architect Thomas Harding, the Conway County Library still operates in its original building and celebrates its centennial in 2016. It was listed on the National Register on April 15, 1978.
