Woman who answered my call did not seem willing to help at all and wasn't very respectful. She did give me another number to call though.

I used this service to find a lawyer who can help me with a consumer protection issue. The interviewer didn't request any information to narrow the specialization beyond consumer protection and referred me to a lawyer who handles debt collection - I needed a lawyer for a privacy issue. To speak to the lawyer, I had to pay $30 to be told I had received a bad referral. There are no refunds for bad referrals, even though I supplied all of the information requested. Be prepared to pay $30 over and over again until you happen to land by chance on a lawyer with the specialization you need.

I wouldn’t even give this a 1 star. I don’t even have a complaint about the lawyers because the lady Mariam who answered the phone didn’t even give me a chance to talk to one. Mariam was horrible, rude and should never work in a place like this. I told her what kind of lawyer I was looking for what kind of case it was. she demanded I tell her something I did not know the answers too or she wouldn’t give me a lawyer. She told me she’s knows more than me cause she’s been working there a long time. This is no way you treat someone who is just trying to get help. As a person whose never gone though anything like this before I would never recommend this place unless they had someone else answer the phones.

This has been such a wonderful experience. The Chicago Bar Association responded so timely and provided a lawyer that was compassionate yet provided realistic insight for my custody situation. I was impressed by my attorneys knowledge base providing me with great advice and representation. I would highly recommend the Chicago Bar Association.

Helpful to point, although they can offer absolutely no legal advice, simply referrals. Maybe I simply had the unpleasant experience due to calling late on a Friday, about half hour before they close for the weekend. This is the only reason I am giving 3 stars opposed to one. I Will try again next week, And adjust my rating appropriately. It would be nice if they offered some type of customer survey in order to adequately addressed their shortcomings.

Just tried (August 3,2022 @ 11:41am) to call for a lawyer referral and even after explaining I’m autistic, have ptsd, etc, please have patience with me I’m not trying to waste you time, the woman yelled at me and I asked her to not yell at me and she yelled at me again to just answer the question when I was seconds away from telling her because she had already asked about who is it against and I have three different organizations to tell her about. I just hung up, why bother when the people giving referrals don’t even have respect for people who are neurodivergent and struggle with mental health. Whoever you were, please learn some patience. You should know better and learn to respect everyone who is calling in to get help.

Today was my first interaction with the company, and I'd want to say that I was treated courteously, amiably, and promptly. What a wonderful occasion in comparison to what I cope with today. Hats off to individuals at the bar association and the reference department.
