A family member has been in contact with legal aid for almost a year, and there has been no progress made in addressing the leaks, management issues, and other concerns.
I do not recommend legal aid services, as it appears that they receive compensation from the state for clients they do not effectively assist, which is disheartening.

Olivia Seksinsky helped me with a possible eviction that was out of my control. As soon as she got my case, she was on it. She was very professional, informative, and efficient. We were working on a time limit and she went over and beyond. She is excellent in her field and we need more like her. I appreciate her guidance and making sure the eviction judgement was removed. And also given me legal advice for future reference. Once again thank you!

Melanie is in the wrong job. Does not know how to talk to abuse victims. Completely wrong attitude, dismissive, laughed, and even assumed genders. Clearly had no interest in hearing anything I had to say, is just doing more harm than good, and ended up terminating the call when I caught her in a lie. This place is supposed to help others feel safe. Melanie did the opposite.

EDIT:: so after my review went up, guess who contacted me FINALLY to let me know he is dropping my case bc of my impatience.. mind you, I’ve only spoken to this man 2 times 11/28 and again via email … TWO TIMES IN 5 MONTHS?! And he’s the ONLY attorney in the practice that handles cases like mine?! Wow!!

I went through the intake in November. Was connected with attorney Matthew C. Whitfield in November. To dated I have ONLY spoken to him 2 times. I’ve sent about 25 follow up emails no response. Left about 10 voicemails no reply…. I was told he was super busy with evictions but was working on my case. 5 months now with little to no communication — Is this normal practice to ignore clients and not get back to them? This is the customer service you get? … Ive lost almost $35000 (that’s a whole years salary to some) to an old employer who did so many illegal things and I can’t get any assistance with even an update on my case!!!!!

Response time from the time I spoke with an intake worker to an attorney was superb! The attorney contacted me within two business days. The intake worker was absolutely amazing when taking my information, she explained step by step the process and what to expect next.

First off I want to thank Becky Hutchinson for her support and dedication to my case. She was an absolute badass and gave me so much inspiration to push through.
