The plaintiff filed for divorce and restricted the defendant's parental rights: The defendant hired Philip Burnham as his legal counsel in a divorce matter that is the oldest one in Cumberland County. The plaintiff initiated an urgent custody hearing and limited the defendant's parental rights based on an allegation of child abuse by the plaintiff's in-home therapist.
The defendant faced financial hardship and communication issues with Philip Burnham: The defendant struggled to understand Philip Burnham's emails and requested him to call and clarify what he needed for court. Philip Burnham did not address the defendant's concerns about the vague court order, the plaintiff's non-compliance, and the child support miscalculation. The defendant had to work two jobs and pay more than $32,000 to Philip Burnham.
The defendant faced delays and difficulties in the divorce process: The defendant informed Philip Burnham about the plaintiff's new job and criminal charges, but Philip Burnham failed to obtain the plaintiff's pay stubs and withdrew the motion for custody.
