This organization has no accountability. Their worker messed up my paperwork. They Refused to help fix i The attorneys became defensive & ignored me. Then just say “ Good Luck”. They get paid no matter what happens. Do not go here for help: they just get paid no matter what. Another scam service. There is no Justice here: they help you fill in paperwork,, but are not there to help with your situation: they just get paid.

The advocate helped me filing the petition, but she basically told me i had to over exaggerate so the judge can approve a TRO. The issue here i understood why she was helping me over exaggerate, its not because they care for you but they need to show the government their still needed. Only way to show their still needed is by helping and manipulating the circuit court to obtain restraining orders. I studied political science in University and i was taught how family advocated manipulate the data. They only show they can get a TRO granted but found out from experience that the judge 95% of the time will dismiss it because theres no way to prove a over exaggerated allegation. The worst part is how they give you a staff attorney that also doesnt care, especially if you have no evidence of abuse the attorney will just tell me, he is going to push the trial as much as he can meaning he is also manipulating the system just so he can get paid. He asked for a continuance 3 times and still the restraining order was dismissed for "not having creditable evidence and over exaggerating. My last issue with these advocate programs is how they never get in trouble because the judge also needs to show they are needed aswell. My law professor taught us that over exaggerating is against the law, yet i didn't get penalized. Something is wrong,

It would be nice if they would be more accurate with the days they are open. It says it's open today and it is not wasted a whole class day trying to get an order of protection for my grandchildren

Even though I was there about 30 minutes before closing, Advocates were VERY helpful and got my client in ASAP before the Judge. Even calling her to please wait. It was amazing!

Even with clients that are not very trusting due to the fact that physical violence has occurred, Advocates are sensitive and help document the process for court (like taking pictures for the judge) respectfully and tactfully.

Very good at calming down clients and instilling hope. Walk you through the paperwork, and the whole process. Gives you a slice of light in a frazzled and murky outcome as situations often place victims in. As a DV advocate in many states across the country, this is one of the Shining Examples of what DV advocacy looks like.

Thanks to all the Advocates who give their undying dedication to their clients. Most of us are Advocates with a passion due to having survived our own ordeals. Those are the best Advocates. The ones that have walked in your shoes.

But remember... Advocates are here to help, present you solutions and choices, but never to make them for you. You and you alone can decide what actions to take. That is why honest options are important. ❤

I came in at 11:00 to put a order protection out cause I fear in my life , it's now 210pm I'm still here gotta go pick up my kids from day care and they still haven't seen me. Now I see y it's so much violence in Chicago. They take 5 hours to give someone a order protection. At this point we all gone die and Chicago Justice system don't care.
