Called legal aid because I'm low income and I'm being sued for a credit card debt. I was told legal aid no longer has the resources to help with debts. They referred me to other places, but of course you have to pay for those lawyers. Very scared to go to court looking like a fool with no representation. It's not their fault, but they were no help. It's sad how there's no one to help low income people when it's needed. At this point I feel hopeless.

The receptionist is so rude his name is Mr.Gonzalis if he even told the truth. He’s been telling me for two weeks there’s no available. Today he transferred me to a housing line and it continued to ring forever. He then transferred me over the his supervisor Jenny and I got her vm. This place is a joke!

I cannot thank Phil Rich enough for all he did to help me stop an eviction and successfully helped me with the purchase my mother's home after her death. Phil was great with updating me with any happenings throughout the whole case, he handled all communication with the probate attorney (can't tell you how much I appreciate that), there was only a couple times that Mr.Rich didn't answer when I called and he immediately called me back, he is by far the best attorney I have EVER encountered! I had the pleasure of dealing with Jennifer from his office on a couple of occasions for her to notarize documents, when I thought Mr. Rich couldn't get any better...he sends this awesome asset from legal aide to prove me wrong! Great people that I can't praise enough! Thank you for all you did to help me, I couldn't have done it without you!

I'm not sure who they have doing customer service and answering the phones there and I should have gotten her name but she seemed a little rude and agitated when I called it is the end of the day but she's still on the clock and being paid for the end of the day so she needs to learn how to keep her professionalism until she gets off then she can act rude to whomever she would like but they are paying you to be polite so do accordingly. I called up there to get some information on my tenant rights but before I could even explain everything she cut me off explaining to me that the office is closed and instead giving me the proper hours. Instead she decided to be rude and try to hurry up and rush me off the phone. She only told me what time the office open so I asked her when did they close and rudely she told me they close at 4:30 as if I was supposed to be psychic and just know that information off the top of my head. Smh customer service is out the window in these days and times. This incident took place at around 4:42 p.m.on this day .

I didn't spend enough time here to give a helpful opinion. What I can say is that the intake clerk got me in, I was seen in 5 minutes time. I can edit my review if my experience with this organization expands. **Update, my experience with this organization will not be expanding at this time. According to a letter I received, Legal Aid receives 30,000 calls each year. I'm sure that this High volume of calls is why careful consideration of cases and their nature is at the root of their decision to take on only specific cases. Legal Aid is a viable resource for people who are in need of legal representation and their income does not exceed a certain amount. Although it is entirely true, I dislike typing or saying it out loud, 'the working poor doesn't stand a chance in this society'. That is a truth that is hard too dismiss. Organizations as such are under too much pressure to meet the needs of the public. This organization and similar ones often lack the resources and manpower to impact more than a few. Don't let this deter you from getting representation if you need it. However, it is something to keep in mind. There's parking right next to the building. The parking is almost never Free. Be prepared to pay a minimum of $5 (bring a credit or debit card). There's also metered parking on the street. I forgot to pay close attention to what Metro routes run through this specific area. But the Metro comes very close to here. Definitely Walkable. There's an Elevator which makes this convenient for those who are not able to take the stairs. Always bring a current and valid form of identification. Doing so will also add ease to the process. Good Luck!
