The illiberal equivalent of the NRA. There was a time when I contributed monthly to the ACLU. Those days are gone because the ACLU has become an extremist organization who has lost sight of community safety. Whether it be protecting drug tourists who defecate on the sidewalks or interfering with the reasonable use of technology by police to protect the public, the ACLU falls on the wrong side. Ideological purity is extremism. Your insane policy actions are turning good, reasonable people into Republicans, and it’s a shame.

I have been a supporter and donor for 10+ years. But ACLU NC boss Abdi Soltani swanning around California campuses, taking sides in the current Palestine conflict and abusing his platform to send out biased "info" mails, is a step into the wrong direction.

I was a member in the 60s & 70s. Was my college's representative to the local chapter. Attended many functions in downtown LA. I'm very disappointed that they've been hijacked by the left. So, so, SO many instances they should have stepped forward with freedom of speech, censorship and criminal behavior. They have completely failed their charter. It's very sad to me.

ACLU is a great organization that defends the constitution of the United States. They protect our civil rights. They have well trained attorneys. They always need more funding to do their job. Donate all you can.

No matter what happened to you just try to swallow it and let it corrode slowly. You will be more frustrated and upset if you contact ACLU. It is the organisation just to make themselves look good and collect donations. There are people travelling with their own private jets and showing off but they haven't done anything to impact the community and poor people. I used to donate to them before I know what is it about and I regret about it. It is another group of politicians to make people think ACLU is going to stand up for them.
When ever people request for help they just said we do not take individual matters. The mass or group only happened when individuals come together.

Crime enablers - these guys will not allow license plate readers in the city. I guess their sympathies are with the gangs that break in to cars and all the other thuggery running rampant in SF.

The ACLU is a legal organization that focuses on high impact civil rights litigation, often at the appellate level. It also has an educational function and a lobbying arm. The reviewers giving it low marks here are simply ill informed about the mission of the organization, and so are disappointed that it did not meet their mistaken expectations. This is not a public defender or legal aid or indigent legal services organization, so stop whining about its failure to provide you with a free lawyer! If that is what you need you are knocking on the wrong door. Honestly, your complaints are so misguided, it is like you are complaining because you could not get a fish dinner served to you at an aquarium supply store.
