I called they sent me to intake hotline, gave info to sister company. They called me back & said no lawyers were available for the date because of short notice & scheduling but the catch is no further or future legal help on my case by company policy, only a completely different case they would help & i gave up said thank you & the receptionist hung up on me without saying a word. Just unnecessarily rude & bad company policy. 0.5 stars

No help at all. They are unprofessional and not willing to help and there is no information and nothing. I am disabled citizens that have been abused and by my landlord for over a year. I am being mentally , physically and financially destroyed by them not to mention discriminated against. I can't get help. I need help. I don't know what to do? Please help me!

In desperate need of legal aid and advice. Called 3 times and every time was told someone would contact me. Never happened. Now my future and freedom is in danger because of the simple act of returning a call. Why advertise the fact that you can aid the needy if you can't do the basics like returning a phone call. Extremely unprofessional.

I must say that I am completely disappointed by this organization. I was approved for Legal Aide more than 2 weeks ago and from the beginning I had trouble with anyone calling me back. I spoke with only 2 people, a Lawyer from Fairfax office and a female Legal Assistant in Fredericksburg... the only help I received was from a Clerk that asked me to bring in my paperwork and told me someone would call me on Monday or Tuesday at the latest. Yet no one called... So I called them and again yesterday and spoke to another clerk that assured me that a Paralegal for the attorney would call me today and still no call was returned... So now I face court alone tomorrow with absolutely no legal advise whatsoever even though one of the Attorneys told me he would speak to me after the Fairfax office sent over my paperwork releasing my case because I applied to the wrong office. I can only pray that all goes well for me... and if it does it won't be because legal aide works helped me in the least bit. I guess my case wasn't important enough for them to bother with. Nice to know that people in need are placed in categories of priority and ignored if it's not worth their time. All I wanted to know was would I be facing this on my own and they couldn't even give me that much of their time or to offer me anything in the way of legal advice on how to handle things. In the future I won't be asking them for any help pro-bono attorney's should I ever need it again. (I pray not) I'll do it on my own as I always have. I've learned that you can't count on anyone but yourself. Thanks for nothing Legal Aide Works. I suppose it only works for some and not others.

UPDATE- I lost my case and was devastated when I was told I must sell my house in 90 days or I'd have to give up my rights to my home and have them auction it off to the highest bidder and pocket the money. So just know this... that no matter the reason a landlord in the state of Virginia can evict you for no reason whatsoever . If you are living on a Month to month lease.

My opinion on Legal Aide is that they don't care about helping the needy just whom ever they choose called let #and name never received a response back to the date

No help at all from these people. They are located in Northern Virginia and told me that they don't have much room for resources in this area (Fredericksburg) . How shocking.
