It would be unfair to besmirch the entire NGO based on services delivered by one employee, I won't do that. This rating is solely based on services provided by Mark Trumbore. I went to NLSP March 11, 2020 for a housing issue, NLSP states this is one of their core areas of service. During intake I was told if NSLP found they had no conflict, they'd take up the case. After leaving NLSP I received a voicemail at 12:53pm from Mark Trumbore, since I received the call I concluded NLSP had no conflict and would represent me in the matter. I returned the call leaving a voicemail to him, he returned my call leaving a voicemail to me at 4:13pm. The phone tag was due to me being in another appointment. March 12th 11:08am, I received another voicemail from Mark Trumbore. I returned the call, I explained to him I have a Veterans Administration federal housing grant, the administrators changed. The new administrators were attempting to force me to give up my VA grant because they don't service Veterans and apply for the city grant. I explained to him I was unwilling to do that as an unemployed Veteran, there are benefits under the Mayors Challenge HUD/VA Permanent Support Housing federal grant vital to me I would lose. I provided the NLSP with the letter from the administrators during intake which stated I was up for re-certification, I needed to provide a no income notarized form and sign new documents to apply to their program. I told him I declined to sign their program documents, but did render the no income notarized certification letter and provided him a copy of that document. The next time I heard from Mark Trumbore via email, he stated I declined to sign the no income notarized document for re-certification, I promptly conveyed to him he was confused and pointed out I sent him a copy of the no income notarized letter I signed at the office of the current administrators. At that point I knew Mark Trumbore was not committed to thoroughly and attentively resolving the matter. From that point on he focused on the benefits I stated I'd lose as opposed to the new administrators trying to force me out of my Mayors Challenge HUD/VA funded federal Permanent Supportive housing grant. Despite my providing him with the names of the previous and current administrators, Mark Trumbore never contacted either. He continuously sent me emails about questions and documents "I" needed to get him that had no bearing on the service I asked NLSP to undertake. I engaged my VA representative at the previous administrator to answer a great deal of those questions. He even confirmed the benefits I received under the Mayors Challenge HUD/VA funded Permanent Supportive housing grant to Mark Trumbore. Mark Trumbore researched every unrelated matter and never the matter for which I came to NLSP. He sent me emails discussing HUD/Vash, VA Survivor benefits, Mayor's Office of Veterans Affairs and on. My former VA representative at the previous administrator was included in the emails. He said to me outside of the emails, "who is this guy, what is he talking about, why is he mentioning these unrelated subjects?" After the last email I'd had enough, so I emailed Mark Trumbore requesting a phone conversation. Mind you, this is someone that has a JD, worked for two separate congressional members producing this kind of work product. He was milking this as if it was a billable hours retainer and I told him that. During the call, I told him as a person with a JD I can not believe the work you've performed on this case. I emphatically told Mark Trumbore he was insulting my intelligence with his work and pointed out I've been out of the military 37 years and served in two branches. Do you really think I need you to tell me what VA Survivor benefits are, or what HUD/Vash is, or any other benefit I'm entitled to as a Veteran? In the end, Mark Trumbore stated I just needed to comply with the current administrator and relinquish my Mayors Challenge HUD/VA federal Permanent Housing grant without ever contacting either administrator.
