There is a running joke at the law firm that I had to hire to actually finish my divorce about West Coast Family Mediation. Was not impartial, no actual court room experience applying family law, and miscalculated my monthly child support payment by over $200. Divorce is really, really, really hard - even when the two parties involved are getting along. I am thankful that my ex-husband and I are very amicable and because of this we were able to save a great deal of money by going through mediation instead of lawyers.

Amanda Singer was so caring and thorough and I cannot recommend working with her enough. Any time I had questions, she answered quickly and patiently. Amanda gave me resources (such as the name of a financial advisor) to help me with this difficult transition. Once we worked out an agreement I did have a lawyer look at it to make sure everything was correct and included. That was only a few hundred dollars, however, instead of the thousands many others dish out for legal assistance. There were not many changes at all as the Mediation Center covered everything that needed to be covered.

I cannot thank SD Family Mediation Center enough for their professionalism and compassion.

"Amanda is a great mediator/lawyer! At all times I felt like she was giving honest and fair advice to me and my ex-wife. My ex-wife was very difficult to work with and constantly threatened to take me to "court".

Amanda was able to tell my ex and I what might happen if we go to court which gave us a good base line to work with while in mediation.

Amanda wrote us an amazing parenting plan that was very specific to include drop off locations/times my ex could call/time sharing schedule/who would pay for kids extra curricular activities/etc. Basically the plan is so detailed it will avoid most fights. If there is any confusion all we have to do is read the agreement Amanda wrote for us which is an actual court order (amanda will get the agreement approved by the court)

In all, mediation is so much better than court and should be tried first!! It saves the stess and conflict and its especially important if kids are involved.

Jennifer Segura professional, but compassionate. Was able to answer all my questions, and definitely put my mind at ease. Even though the consultation was free, she spent so much time discussing everything, I never felt rushed or that she was trying to push her services. She actually recommended a therapist, and was very honest about the pros AND cons of all of my options.
