We chose Bill back in 2022 to help us with a custody case. His prices were really reasonable and when we went for our in person consult we knew he was the right attorney for us. My partner started with no overnights with his child to now having complete 50/50 which is exactly what we wanted. The case did take a long 2.5 years but that was through no fault of Bill. He answered every email at all times of the day (and we sent a lot of emails) he was very helpful and had experience with the judges and the minors council, he answered every question we had, and it was an all round smooth experience, I highly recommend him for your family law case.
Hopefully we don’t have to go back to court but if we do we’ll be calling Bill again.

Blasser Law was the 1st firm to take my call. The receptionist took my information and not much later I received a call back from Mr. Bill. Even though we aren't in the area he was kind enough to agree to take our case, but did a caring suggestion of maybe finding someone closer to where we reside. Which was thoughtful and showed me he was not out to make $$$. A kind heart wants the best for people. Me. Bill asked if he could just hear a little bit of what's going on. I explained and the concern and care I heard in his voice made me want to spend all I have on my credit card to retain him. Instead, he gave me some great free advice. I also felt better after speaking with him. The route we were going to take would have been a waste of time, instead we know how to get our point across letting everyone we deal with know we mean business or else. My biggest complaints are:
*Bill disappeared for 7 days leading up to my court date. I called everyday, 5 days in a row and did not hear back until finally I demanded to know where he was from his receptionist and left her a message that I needed to know where my case stood. Lo and behold, I received an email from Bill minutes later and the draft agreement I had been waiting days for another 30 minutes later.
*Bill took a retainer of $3,500 for my case. My case was a simple increased visitation case. I did all the work discussing and compromising with my son's mother split physical custody arrangements and outlining to Bill our agreement. Bill took my entire $3,500 retainer.
*$1,000 of costs for Bill's "work" consisted of him having to go to court for a hearing on 7/2/19 which made no sense due to the fact that I have a signed court order for our new custody agreement dated 6/28/19. I don't know if this court hearing was real. It may have been Bill's way of covering up his shoddy last minute work. Either way, I wasn't notified prior to this court hearing and given any options (I could have drove to the courthouse myself and saved $1,000 and asked why my signed 6/28 court orders were having issues). What is worse is that $525 of these costs are for Bill's drive time to court! I would understand paying a $350 hourly rate for extensive legal work requiring expertise but not for drive time.

If it was an option, my rating would have been zero stars, not 1. I cannot recommend engaging Mr Blasser for any legal services based on my experiences with him. I engaged him to assist me with my divorce, which he was only willing to do upon an advance payment of about $8,000. I don’t recall the precise amount, but it may have been as much as $8,500.

He was not available to advise me, and the divorce document was based on a draft prepared by my ex-husband. This proved to be very disadvantageous to me. The agreement included no provision for alimony, despite a 35-year marriage during most of which I was essentially a stay-at-home mother. When I was able to work, my checks were all given to my ex-husband who maintained complete control of the finances. This was also true of an inheritance of over $50,000 after the deaths of my parents.

When I asked him about why alimony was being waived, Mr Blasser indicated that I had no choice but to accept the terms that my ex-husband had drafted.

After signing the agreement, Mr Blasser did not return emails or phone calls on a timely basis and did not provide any information about the status of my divorce. It was not until a call in which it was indicated that I was considering reporting what I considered his unethical behavior that he finally sent me a copy of my divorce document, which had been approved by the courts approximately one month earlier.

I recently submitted a negative review of Mr Blasser, which was much vaguer, and received an email from Mr Blasser threatening a civil action for defamatory remarks if I did not delete it. As a result, I deleted the original review and am submitting this in its place.
