I was recommended to seek out Justin Goodman’ team at Zacks and Freedman, and I am beyond grateful for the exceptional service they provided. We cannot speak highly enough of Mark Chernev and Quitania Brooks.
We are not professional landlords, so having Mark and Quitania guide us through the process of having to evict 2 tenants recently was immensely helpful. My husband and I would highly advise anyone wanting to move back into their own home to seek the guidance of Mark Chernov and his team. Mark Chernev was our attorney for an issue with a master tenant who moved from our rental unit but wouldn't vacate the lease, preventing us from signing a new lease with the subtenants. I don't know how common our issue was, but I get the feeling that Mark is seldom surprised by a new case. While our case had numerous unanswered questions, Mark had strategies on how to find the answers. He understood SF tenant law from the inside out and knew which levers to press and which to leave alone. Best of all, he was practical. That doesn't sound like high praise, but it is! There are myriad ways to tie oneself into knots, wasting time and money considering all the possibilities of a case. Mark Chernev didn't do that. Mark is experienced and knows what's likely to happen in these cases. He kept the ship on course. If new information became available, we would adjust our course appropriately. But the twists and turns were minimal, and we were very happy with the end result. Highly recommended.

Mark Chernev, Attorney-Zacks, has helped our family with two separate Estates to reach "Settlement Agreements" with Tenants. Mark is extremely professional, courteous and knowledgeable. Mark negotiates the "Settlements" with directness but also with the tact needed in Tenant negotiations. He has made it possible to negotiate very fair and timely "Agreements". His office staff, notably Quitania Brooks, are also very professional, efficient and delightful to work with. All client dealings are expeditiously and accurately completed which equates to reasonable billings. I would recommend Zacks, and in particular, Mark Chernev, to anyone seeking similar services.
