I'm very upset with this place. They actually told me that they are not taking anymore divorce cases till after July 26th. This is the only legal Aids for Manhattan where I live so by the time I get a legal aid it will be too late for my case date. If the court is still giving court dates how are we supposed to be represented without a legal rep. I called for a month every phone number I have for legal Aids or seen on internet and not one is helpful. I think if my case is not long enough to make money off or I'm paying with cash no one wants to help. I'm physically challenged and really need help and not getting it why. I've been calling this place for 2 months and they said a lot of excuses every time I get through. No one could tell me if I can't find one if one will be appointed to me or not at the court. Why is no one helping. If I stand next to all the clients they have right now I believe I am the most in need of help than the able body who can afford to get there own help and are getting it from you guys. Shame on all of you. I never heard a legal aid place close there intake because they are full and that's without asking me what type of case. That showed me that they didn't want to work with me. No one cares. I never got called back and no one really cares who is in serious need to help. If I could move around or could afford to hire a lawyer I would never bother to call you guys but you guys don't care something is wrong with this legal aid society place. I hope something will force change in the way you guys operate, I really am in need of help and no one Cares.
